l.d.l : Long Distant Love
Here we are in quiet rooms and loud thoughts,
Separated by miles and a few hours of truth.
Bounded by nothing but telephone lines and Skype calls.
Here, I see dried leaves falling off its branches,
And hope we don't dry off.
There, I bet you watch the snow fall,
And hope this love doesn't freeze.
I wish I could be there,
Cuddled in your arms and give you the warmth,
That you lack and crave.
That no amount of coffee cups or furry blankets could give you.
And I bet, you reminisce about our little arguments,
And how chocolates made everything sweeter that it already was.
These memories were enough,
Enough to be loved,
Enough to be appreciated,
To be told that we were nothing but beautiful.
I miss the way you looked at my eyes,
And suddenly all the pain,
Which I felt in the depths of my soul,
Piercing every beat of my heart,
Were dissolved.
That look, that was revealing,
Healing every inch of my bruised heart,
As if you already knew what I was feeling.
That look made me believe.
Believe in us.
Here I am,
In an airport
Standing alone in the crowded arrival hall.
Hands grasping flowers,
Complemented with fluttering butterflies in my stomach.
Like a nervous wreck of a garden, I stood there,
Waiting to finally see a glimpse of you,
After what seems like eternity,
With my heart pumping blood faster than a speeding jet.
After what seemed like hours,
I see a familiar face,
With bagged eyes due to lack of sleep,
Which is scanning through the crowd for me.
I see you have a little blue box in your hand,
Wondering what it could be.
Our eyes meet and immediately I look down,
As you stood in front of me.
On one knee,
Opening that box and revealing a precious stone.
You said,
"Remove your name which is tattooed on my ribs,
So that my heart can be free from this cage,
And always be with me.
Remove this distance that kills us every single day.
Be mine,
And we'll conquer the world,
No matter what it takes."
