School the next day was terribly boring. Val had agreed to take Sam and I to my house for our project, 'only if I get to come over at 7.' She told me. I had no problem with that.

When school ended, we hopped into Val's small Neon and headed to my house. "Thanks for the ride!" I thanked her, heading to my front steps with Sam behind me. We headed up the stairs to my room and started pitching in ideas for biology. Since Sam was the obvious geek here, I let him do all the talking and idea-pitching. Huh. Who would have thought that we'd actually get some work done? At about six thirty, we were both really not in the mood to do anymore thinking about biology.

I was lying on my bed, thinking, while Sam was sitting on a computer chair, focused on his phone, when I decided to ask him a question. "Hey, Sam? Can I ask you something?" I asked him. "Umm... Sure," .... "Are you gay?" I had been wondering about that the whole night, and I figured 'sure, why not ask him?' "Uh, yeah. Well bi, actually. Why do you ask" He asked, smirking. I felt myself blushing. "Well, I, uh, was just wondering," I replied. He raised an eyebrow. "Sure..." I coughed awkwardly. "Hey, I'm going to get a snack and some Coke, want some?" I asked, trying to break the awkwardness. "Sure," he replied, really interested in the game he was playing on his phone.

I went downstairs and grabbed some Coke, only to turn around and almost drop it. "OH MY MOTHER OF PEARL!" I almost screamed. "What is with you and scaring me?!?!" I yelled at him. He, of course, just smiled. What is with him and scaring me half to death?! SERIOUSLY! "Well, I find it quite funny when I scare you," he said. Well then. Then I knew what was coming, because he started leaning in. Damn. Our lips almost met when I realised what I was doing. "Whoa, whoa, whoa." I stopped him. I'm so stupid sometimes! Why not just kiss him without a question!? Because I wasn't going to let him kiss me again and just act like it never happened. No. I don't like it. "I'm not just going to let you kiss me again, and act like it never happened. No. Nope." I told him, sort of waiting for a reply. He looked into my eyes, and I almost just gave up and kissed him. "Well, then, we could make it so we kiss all the time" he told me with a smirk on his lips. "You want to go on a date with me, Derek?" he asked me, and mentally I thanked myself for stopping the kiss. "Why, yes, I will, Sam." I replied. "Awesome, This Friday, say. 6? Don't wear anything fancy. I'll find a way of getting us there..." I was officially clearing my schedule on Friday. I was so beyond excited. "I could borrow Val's car," I suggested. "Awesome. Now can I kiss you?" I answered by pressing my lips to his.

"He did WHAT?!?!?!" Val practically screamed into the phone. "I told you! He asked me on a date! And we kissed, but that's not the point. The point is that I need to borrow your car on Friday..." I prepared for another squeal from Val. "OH EHM GEE!! Of course you can borrow my car! Eek! This is soo exciting! EEK!" she squealed again "I'm coming over!! Be there in like ten minutes!" and with that, she hung up.
