"Bye! See you soon sometime?" Thomas asked me.
"Sure." I smiled and walked down the hallway.
I heard the usual shouts and screams as a walked down the hallway, just trying to get to Spanish. I was just minding my own business until I heard something.
"Spanish, you?" Jason asked. Oh dear god, I think Jason has Spanish with me. What was I going to do? I made up tons of plans in my head but none of them seemed logical... or realistic. I decided that I was going to just get to class quickly so I could find a spot that has no empty seats around it, therefore I couldn't sit next to him.
I really shouldn't be avoiding him... Or should I?
I shook my head and arrived at the Spanish room and my teacher greeted me.
"Hola, cómo estás?"
"Bien, gracias, y tú?" I spoke to my teacher, basically asking how he was in case you don't speak this confusing language.
"Muy bien! Tiene la tarea?" He asks, I turn in the homework and sit down, hoping that I don't have to talk in the language for the time being.
I look around and realize something, I'm going to be in the same room as Jason, my necklace is bound to glow. I quickly stuffed my necklace in my shirt, thank goodness I wasn't wearing a white or pale shirt.
Jason came into the room, looking very confused, which I found oddly adorable.
"Hola! Jason, no?" Señor Bulazar asked Jason.
"Uhh, no hablo español?" Jason looked terrified.
"You don't speak Spanish yet, but by the time you are done with my class, you will be as fluent as ever!"
Lies.
"Hmm, how about you take a seat next to..." Crap, I just realized I completely forgot to follow through with my plan.
"Meira! She's one of my best students and she can help you while I'm teaching."
Well, shit.
Jason smiled at me and sat next to me, something made me not want to talk to him at all.
"Hey! I know you!"
"No you don't."
Jason looked at me, "You delivered cookies to my house, then you kinda just ran away. I thought it was hilarious."
"Oh well um, yeah that's me I guess." I sort of smiled and we turned our heads towards the board.
"Alright class, we are going to be reviewing the present tense. Remember the conjugations for ar, er, and ir verbs!"
Thank god. This was literally the only thing I can do in Spanish. I smiled when he handed me a in class worksheet. I was only on the second question when Jason asked me something.
"Hey, how do you do this?"
"Oh um well the verb is amar, which means 'to love.' What you do is you conjugate it in the tenses, which I'll let you use my notebook, and create a sentence, like I did 'Yo amo comida.' which means 'I love food.' Jason started laughing rather loudly and the class looked at us.
"Sorry."
"It's fine." Our teacher said.
"So, what sentence did you write?"
"Hold on," He said and I waited for about 10 seconds, "I wrote 'Yo amo azul,' since azul is literally the only word I know in Spanish."
"You can do better than that... What do you want it to say?"
"I love... basketball?"
"Okay well basketball is baloncesto so you would write..."
"Yo amo baloncesto?"
"Yeah! Right! You got it?"
"Yeah, I'll let you know if I need anything else. Thanks, Meira."
"You're welcome." I said and focused on my worksheet.
"NO NACHOS IN CLASS!" The teacher yelled at Hunter. our biggest troublemaker.
"Whatever." He rolled his eyes and stuffed the nachos in his bag, I felt sorry for whoever will end up with him.
Shortly after, class was dismissed, which meant it was time to go home... yay.
I practically ran out of the school building when I ran into someone.
"Be careful." I looked up and saw Thomas.
"Yeah, yeah I just wasn't looking and I want to go home."
"What's the rush?"
"I have a huge test to study for and I am really looking forward to a nap."
Thomas laughed, "You're definitely something!" I smiled and started to walk away. Until I was stopped, again.
"What Thomas?"
"Want to exchange numbers? That way, maybe we can hang out. Or I could hang out with you and your friend, if I'm not intruding."
I smiled and put my number in his phone while he put his in mine.
"See you later?"
"See you!" I shouted and hurried home.
