Teiko Middle School; known for their high class and their strict ways of basketball.
Their team is full of strong players, but only five of them stand above the rest; Seijuro Akashi, Shintaro Midorima, Atsushi Murasakibara, Ryota Kise, and Daiki Aomine.
And then there's me; Tetsuya Kuroko, or the Phantom Sixth Man. This is my second year at the middle school, and I still can't believe I'm in the first string.
These five members are incredible, especially Aomine-kun. He's one of the most admirable players on the team. I don't know why, but there's something about him and the way he plays.
I love him. I know it's weird to say about a friend, or teammate in this matter, but I really do.
Without him, or without any of the five, we're nothing. We're a team, no matter what, and we always stick together.
Actually, never mind. To be honest, we're not what you may call a team. If anything, we're a team that doesn't care about each other; we're not friends, and we're not a team.
I have to be honest, and not lie. Teiko Middle School's basketball club is full of five strong members, other great members, and a shadow.
They're changing more and more, and all I can do is just bear with it.

"So, Kuroko, how was school?" My father asks me.
"Fine." I answered.
"Is everything doing okay?"
I didn't answer, but nodded. I stood up from my seat. "Thank you for the meal, but I'm not hungry right now." I grabbed my plate and went to the kitchen.
As I cleaned my dish, I heard my parents talking about me.
"Is he okay?" My father asked.
"He's looked like this since he got home." Mom answered.
I sighed, and continued cleaning.
I heard a ring from the doorbell. I heard my father open the door.
"Is Kuroko Tetsuya here?" The person asked.
"Yes he is here, let me get him for you." My dad responded to the person. "Please, come in."
"Thank you."
"Kuroko, you have a visitor!"
"Who is it?" I asked.
"Oh my, you're so tall!" Mom said in an intrigued voice.
It better not be Murasakibara-kun.
I ran into the living, praying it was not him.
"Kuroko, why didn't you tell us about him?" My mother asked.
The person then faced me, eye to eye.
My eyes widened...
"Aomine-kun..."
"Yo, Tetsu." He smiled.
What was he doing here? How did he know where I lived?
"Kuroko," My mother called, "are you going to introduce us to your friend?"
I didn't answer but nodded. "Mom, Dad, this is Aomine Daiki; Aomine-kun, this is my mom and dad."
"Oh, so this is the guy you've been talking about, Kuroko?"
I blushed. I had forgotten that I've talked about Aomine-kun before. "Y-yes..."
"It's great to finally meet you Aomine!" Mom smiled.
He smiled at her. "It's great to meet you too."
He turned to face me. "I never knew you talked about me, Tetsu." He smirked at me.
"I used to, but I don't anymore." I told him.
He chuckled. "I think it's cute."
My parents talked with Aomine-kun for a while, and a while turned into a long time.
"Okay, it's getting late." Dad said. "You should head home."
Aomine-kun nodded. "Yes sir, thank you for everything."
"I'll show Aomine-kun the way out." I said.
He followed me through the door.
"How did you know where I lived?" I asked.
"Satsuki told me." He answered. "She said that I needed to hang out with you more. Sounds nothing like her, to be honest."
Momoi-san said that?
I looked away from him. "Well this is my home, and now you should go home."
Aomine-kun raised an eyebrow. "Huh, come on, Tetsu; relax a little."
"How?" I asked. "You came to my house without telling me you were coming."
"Satsuki told me to come."
"And then you come in acting like a new person, who are you trying to impress?" I questioned.
"I'm not trying to impress anyone!" Aomine-kun argued. "I only came to see you; that's it."
"Look, as much as I would like to hang out with you, I can't right now." I told him. "Goodnight."
I didn't know why I was mad. I didn't see him as my light anymore; he was not the Aomine-kun that I knew.
"Tetsu, wait!" He called out to me.
I ignored him. I couldn't talk to him because if I did, I think I would cry.
I then felt his hand grab my wrist.
"Let go of me!" I shouted.
He then pulled me and pressed his lips against mine.
My eyes widened from shock. Aomine-kun's lips were were soft, like I remembered them.
Aomine-kun then broke the kiss and looked at me.
"Tetsu," He said with his cold eyes still stuck on his face. "Are you still my shadow?"
Aomine-kun still wanted me as his shadow? I couldn't believe it.
"Aomine-kun," I sighed. "Didn't I tell you this before; I'm always your shadow."
