You always stand tall
Without fear being shown
The life of a soldier everyone will know,
The love you give to your family
And friends
The heart once again of a strong man.
You stand there proud
Watching and helping everyone around
Never letting fear come over you
There you stand watching over us too.
Proud and strong a soldier will always be
Putting his job first and then his family.
His wife will understand that
But it’s hard to believe
The way he stands for his country.
Never does he let you know
The darkness of his past
He's been there once and now again
How strange it must be to him
Letters and phone calls,
With all the long waits
But all he can think of
Is that voice or response on the other end
Praying and laughing
Maybe even a cry at the end
Just remember he'll come home again.
Wait there patiently that’s all you can do
a soldiers creed will tell you to stand TRUE
