Evan's POV

My mom told me the story. How my dad was in the army and he got shot but it wasn't a bad wound but they sent him home anyhow. And then when he was running to see me and my mom he tripped on a tree root and fractured both his arms. He had to go to the hospital and didn't survive the operation to fix his arms. I started crying when she told that part. It's why I got my tree hatred ever since.

"But wait" I said. "If that part's true then maybe some other stuff is." "No Evan. That's not how a coma works" said my mom. "You just remember that because it happened before today in the coma. Like you remember your old schools and being bullied for liking One Direction. I bet you even remember being transferred out of your old school" she said. I thought about it. I did remember that stuff. I felt a slump in my heart. "Oh" I said. She told me the other stuff like when we moved into this apartment. It all seemed legit.

Then I got another question. "Hey mom whatschool am I moving to now?" I said. She said I was just going to the publicschool since it's the only one left in the area. "Also you have to go to ittomorrow" she said. I groaned. "NO! I hate school" I yelled. I started crying."I can't believe I had all those thoughts about meeting One Direction and allthe adventures and it was all fake." I ran back into my room and slammed thedoor. I sat on my bed crying. "Why can't my fake life be real?" I said.
