Nico hated going to the beach, his friends could swim and he couldn't. But Hazel begged him saying he needs sun in his life.
"What you reading?" Nico snapped out of his thoughts to see Jason and Percy over him, looking on his lap.
"How to get away with murder." Jason huffed.
Percy mumbled, "why?" Nico shrugged and looked back at the book, really it was facts on Greek Gods.
"The water is good Neeks. Wanna swim?" Percy asked the Son Of Death, he knew Nico's fear so he asked all the fish to stay away from that area.
"No. I want to read if you haven't noticed that." Percy smirked and looked at Jason, but Jason was already running back to the cool waters.
Percy glanced back at Nico, knowing this was going to be his death wish. He made water cuff his ankles and wrists, the glare Nico gave Percy scared him but Nico did need water.
"Let. Me. Go!" Nico barked at the fish king. Percy shook his head and urged the water to lift him up and stroll to the bigger water. "Percy please...! I c-can't swim!" Percy smiled and sat down in the shallow part with Nico next to him.
"I wasn't going to put you in the deep part. Nico do you hate me?" Nico looked at the boy next to him, knowing he could never hate the boy.
"No."
"Do you love wise girl?" Nico almost choked Percy.
"W-what...?"
"Because me and her broke up and if you want to go out with her you can." Nico shook his head.
"I like someone else." Percy almost squealed.
"Who?! Is she pretty?" Nico sighed and looked out to see Jason give a thumbs up, than splash Piper.
"Its... Its not a girl..." Took a few minutes for Percy to understand but he got it. Nico was gay.
"Well, whose the lucky guy?" There sounded like a hint of joy in Percy's voice.
"Um... Uh... We know him."
"Leo?"
A shake of a head.
Gasp. "Jason??"
A glare.
"Will?"
Rolled eyes.
"Okay smarty pants, me?" That shut Nico up and look out towards the Stoll brothers try to tag Frank, though he kept turning turning into water creatures. "Its.. Me?" Nico slowly nodded. Here it comes, Nico thought, the pain. But all that came was Percy's lips touch Nico's
"What?"
Percy smiled. "I had a crush on you since last summer."
"Oh."
"Will you be my boyfriend?" Nico smiled-- a true one-- a beautiful smile.
"Yes."
From that day on Nico has loved water and to sit in the shallow end.
