Okay so, this is where the cliffhanger from the other chapter is finally explained, hurrah
Recap: Phil is entering Dan's room to try and find out more about the person he had been spending time with...

Phil's POV
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding as I enter his room. I have been in it countless times before, in reality and in my sleep. But this is the first time it really feels like I shouldn't be in here.
Not am I only going to betray his trust, but I am going to betray our friendship. The unspoken agreement of never going into the others room without them, or express permission, has now been violated.
Even though I know he has been ignoring me for weeks, at least that was explainable. It was subtle, something that cannot be pinned down. This? This is obviously something which I shouldn't be doing, I know I shouldn't be doing it, he will know I knew I shouldn't be doing it, and I'm pretty sure he will also know that I know that he knows that I know that what I'm am doing even though I know I shouldn't being doing it.
Okay I'm getting too stressed. It doesn't matter. Nothing matters, you're as light as a bird. I take a slow breath in and out as I shut the door behind me. Let's go.
My eyes search around the room for anything that might be of any importance. Everything seems normal, and so I lay my eyes on his laptop on the floor next to his bed.
I step as quietly as possible towards it, although I know there is no point. I doubt he is coming back any time soon, however I can't bring myself to just trash his room. I sit cross-legged, open the laptop and begin to go through the search history.
His password was Phil, how adorable. The fact used to make me smile even when I was sad, but now it just makes me fill with more sadness.
I scan through the search history, most of the results pretty normal. Tumblr, cats, a dishwasher. Hmm. I scroll down some more, and that's when things begin to get interesting. The same name keeps appearing, again and again.
"Melanie Martinez," I whisper to myself. Is that who he has recently been obsessed with? Who even is she? I click on one of the links, and start to scroll through hours of YouTube videos about her, but even though her music is fantastic, I can't bring myself to like her.
I close the tabs, not thinking to delete the history, cause it's not like I've been anywhere Dan will think suspicious, right?
Shutting the lid, I place my hand under his bed as I begin to push myself up. A sudden pain shoots up my arm, sizzling and sharp, and as I cry out my vision goes black, my few remaining moments of consciousness filled with the sensation of something slithering over my legs. What just happened?
Dan's POV
I smile to myself as I get out of the taxi, mulling over the evening and just how well it went. Well, apart from almost being severely burnt from a passing waiter who seemed in a hurry. Melanie laughed a lot at that. I'm not sure whether I should be worried that the fact I almost had to go to hospital was hilarious to her, but it made her smile.
I put my key in the lock and twist. The door doesn't move. Huh? Strange. I proceed to unlocking the extra lock that we only ever use when going away for a long time or something. The door now opens, and I close it shut behind me.
The flat is quiet. Eerily quiet, not Phil has gone to sleep while eating quiet.
"Phil?" I call out, hoping for an answer. I mean he could just be out I guess. But locking the door completely? That's unlike him. I place my bag on the floor and walk through the hallway, checking in Phil's room to see if he's in there. Nope.
I go to my room, and open the door. I gasp slightly as I see the scene in front of me, which is drastically different to what I had been expecting to see. I lean against the doorway as the putrid smell hits me like a truck, my stomach flipping, like it's preparing to exit through my mouth.
