Photograph ; Chapter Seven ❁

Well, I'm late for my first photoshoot. Great. Just great. I grabbed on the cold metal bar, released one final heavy sigh and pushed the door open. Everyone raised their heads and turned to my direction as the light illuminated the room, slowly going dim as I closed the door.

The studio was painted grey, the atmosphere of tension suffocates with professionalism. Everything's complete and prepared, from the backdrops to lights. Cameras were positioned to capture from all angles. At a corner, the air conditioner was blasting at medium, and the models lined up at the middle.

I cleared my throat and made my way to the station.

"Sorry for my tardiness." I stood beside my assistant who independently fixed everything while I was away.

"If everyone's ready please get in your positions. We'll start rolling in—"

The door swung open once again. You've got to be kidding me, this woman is everywhere. She made her way towards the end of the line.

"Who are you?" my assistant spat prickly.

"I came for the audition." she replied.

"What are you talking about? You're 3 weeks late. You can leave." her shoulders slumped and her eyes cast down in a mournful gaze. Mouth—set in a semi-pout. Cara dragged herself towards the door.

"Ma'am! Ma'am!" one staff ran towards us and stopped in front of my assistant.

"What is it Carl?"

"One of our models couldn't make it."

"What? Why?"

"Her flight was rescheduled next, next week, we can't afford any more delays."

"Then let's just continue with 12 members."

"But ma'am we have 13 products, and each one needs a model." He's right, and as my assistant, she should've known better.

I grabbed Cara by the sleeve of her shirt, causing her to make a full stop. "Why don't we just accept miss newbie right there?" Everyone averted their eyes towards me with a shock registered on their faces, including Cara.

"What do you think?" I asked my assistant. She closed her mouth, then swallowed hard before answering me.

"But we don't know if she can pull this off."

"Why don't we try? She's got a great figure." Vomit. "Trust me, I'll take her best angles."

"I guess we can have her for a replacement." Trusting me, she gave in.

I clapped my hands together, "Everyone! We're rolling in two minutes."

Photography is everything to me. It's my therapy, my passion, it holds my greatest drive in life. There's so much out there that is worthy of viewing. So many sunsets, full moons, adorable animals, flowers, people, buildings. It doesn't matter what it is. Your creativity determines how you frame the shot and when you press the trigger.
