~Pitch's POV~
Theme: The Neighbourhood - Sweater Weather, Atlas Genius - Trojans
He was gone. But I knew, deep in the recesses of my soul, that Jack would be back. For more answers. And, hopefully, acceptance. I gloomily drifted back to the Globe on the bridge. And a sight made my heart leap. Ivy was back. I beamed. 'You've returned?'
'Of course. You let him go. And I came home,' she answered happily.
'I wasn't sure you would. Not after what I told him.'
Her face fell. 'Oh. That.'
Chagrin flooded me again. Hot nervousness. Like getting caught in a lie. Only, this time, it was pure truth. Truth, I didn't want to face with my own child in front of me. But she knew. How could she not ignore it? I had just poured my heart out to a Spirit who we all had thought I loathed.
'I'm sorry,' I muttered.
Ivy gave a quick laugh of indignation. 'For what, exactly?'
I was treading dangerous waters now. So I went for vague. 'For everything.'
'Well. It's about time,' she retorted.
'Hush. My errors are no concern of yours,' I snapped at her. Nice way to treat your Father, I sneered mentally. 'I don't appreciate how you're acting. I didn't kill anyone just yet.'
Indignation swam across her pale face. Her eyes flashed dangerously. Ivy took a deep breath to calm herself and looked back up at me. 'Fine. Be that way. I'm out of here,' and she disappeared again.
'Brat. You go ahead and leave me to my devices, child. Don't worry, at least some good will come of this,' I muttered to the slight darkness around me. Alone, again. Of course. The Fates had never favoured me. If it's not one thing, it's another. I sighed, defeated, once again.
My mind flashed back to Jack.
Had he come to terms yet?

~Jack's POV~
'Yeah, you heard me right,' I replied to North's question. 'This is Pitch's work.' I had my hoodie hiked up to my neck, showing the new scars that read PB.
North scoffed. 'Well, I can't say much, Jack. It's quite disturbing. Did he say anything else?'
Yeah. That he's in love with me. And that he was sorry. I kept my face straight. 'No,' I lied. Why? Why me? I let my hoodie slip back down and shifted.
North considered this for a moment. 'Does anyone else know?'
'Jamie. He's the reason I'm here instead of fighting Pitch,' I laughed breathlessly. 'The twerp threw his snow globe before I could leave properly.'
'Snow globe? I'm surprised he still has it, after all these years,' North laughed with me.
I knew what he was trying to do. He was trying to help me keep my mind off of it. But he was failing miserably.
'You're free to go. I need time.'
Hhmph. Right. How much would he need? I wanted my answers NOW. Not in a few hours. Not in a few days. NOW.
'I... I have to go North,' I thought quickly for an excuse to leave. 'I have to try and talk to Jamie again,' I lied smoothly.
North gave me a look that he was on to me. 'Jack... Whatever you do...' he put a snow globe in my hand. 'Be safe.'
'Of course,' I replied with a bit of a flushed face.
I took the snow globe and myself to another, empty room. I had an image of Pitch's lair in my mind as I shook it and threw the globe against a nearby wall.
And I walked through.
~Pitch's POV~
I tried to ignore the noise of someone shuffling through the many levels of my domain. I sat, defeated, knees to my chest against a high-walled bridge.. I ignored the sound of mostly silent approach.
'If you're back to continue chiding me, don't even-'
'I'm not here to humiliate you, Pitch.'
It was Jack. My hope rekindled for a moment. Had he come to terms with my admittance? Had he found his own as well? I looked up slowly and could not restrain the smile that slowly spread across my face. I got up gracefully, slowly. Perfectly. Jack simply stared back.
'Are.... You... Have you come to terms?' I asked subtly, cautiously.
He looked down for a moment then back up at me. 'I believe I have.'
My grin morphed into a smirk. 'And?'
He looked me dead in the eye. 'I feel it,' he paused, 'I feel the connection. The attraction is there.'
No matter how wrong it feels. It's there, I thought. It make me smile wildly.
