[Author's Note - I know it's been 5 years since the last update, but I lost my password and then got caught up in life. I'm back, and as a full time parent, I can write again. Yeah, it's crappy fanfiction, but follow your dreams, right? Plus writing fanfiction gives me friends. And I like friends. So here's to the new chapter that's in progress, and hopefully many more. Fröhliches lesen!]
[Author's note - Here's a new chapter for you all! Now please do note that I will be reworking previous chapters and changing their content to make the plot run smoother and not so quick. So keep an eye out for updates!]

~Pitch's POV cont.~
I looked over the snowy boy and took in his facial expressions, judging for emotion. Part of me did not believe him one bit. Wouldn't be the first time I'd been tricked as soon as things started looking up for me. I started to circle Jack, walking carefully and slowly. My footsteps made a sharp sound against the ever so slightly uneven surface of the floor.
The white haired boy looked confused over my sudden change in demeanor.
'Wha... what's wrong?' His voice quivered, caught off guard. 'I thought that this is what you wanted to happen. What was supposed to happen...' Frost trailed off, his eyes searching for answers in my face.
Answers he wasn't going to get.
I made a complete circle around the icy youth, and stopped, my last step echoing around the various tunnels, chambers, and corridors or my dwelling. I raised an ashy hand and rubbed my finger tips together in concentration.
My cold heart lusted for this slender male, but after all the trouble he and his various friend put me through, it had made me start to doubt him.
'My daughter thinks I'm being selfish,' I said softly, lowering my hand and turning to look back at Jack, 'and no matter what I do, I can't convince her otherwise. But she had a point that my desires overlooked.'
Jack's brow furrowed in thought.
'What... What do you mean?'
I chuckled and brushed imaginary dirt off of the right shoulder of my attire. 'Given our history... And your assumed purpose for being... I'd say that you have some trust to work on. You and your little friends did a number on me, which as little as it matters now, left me weak and vulnerable. How am I just supposed to welcome you in open arms just because I've got a couple of little feelings grabbing for you?'
I looked at him with a low sneer, an instance such as that would be a hard thing to forgive for anyone, I thought.
Jack nodded.

~Jack's POV~
I nodded at Pitch's words. Made good sense. Maybe my immaturity did cloud some of my judgement about the issue at hand. I turned and searched for a ledge to sit on, and found one to be behind me. Made sense, as this was the main chamber of Pitch's hidey hole.
Trying to gather my words and throw out an idea, I sat down on the black colored formation and rested my elbows on my knees.
Then it hit me.
'I-I know this sounds stupid,' I began, 'but I could be a double agent and tell you what happens at the meetings between us Guardians. I could betray them, and you could take them out, one by one.... And make it personal, too.'
Oh boy, I realised what I was just blurting out.
That would be the exact opposite of the reason I was even still around in the first place.
On the other hand, I didn't like being used, teased, or ignored. It seemed fitting.
I watched Pitch through ice-glazed strands of white hair, waiting for a reply or action or something. I was desperate.
For once in my life, I wanted to live on the edge. To really feel alive. Like before.
Suddenly, a looming shiver ran through my body, from my bare toes to the reddened tips of my ears. A part of me knew I had put into motion something earth shattering. Something big.
I didn't know it would change everything for a long, long, long time.
The dark man looked at me witch a piercing golden glare. 'That could work,' he admitted, turning with a flourish of his robes, and strode farther away from me to ponder his dark version of the Globe.
I spoke with sudden confidence. 'I mean, with all the technology that's in the world today, kids aren't believing as much anymore. Parents don't pass on stories. They're scared and vulnerable.'
Easy picking, I thought.

(Sorry for the short chapter, I haven't written in months and I needed to get back into the feel of writing for two very different characters. I will have another chapter shortly!)
