Arianna sat at her desk gazing fixedly out of the window.
She as pondering what adventures she would have once she got out of school she imagined herself traveling the world and having a vast array of adventures. she hated school every one was expected to fit into a certain category and if you weren’t at the same level as someone else then then u were most likely not going to fail but what. The teachers didn’t relies is that everyone is different in their own way and wouldn’t always fit onto a category. This was the case with Arianna she was indeed very smart but her smartness was something that couldn’t be measured by any test as she wasn’t an intellectually smart person but more of a hand on sort of smart. She would get perfect scores on tests where she had to show how to do certain things but when it came to writing everything down she would push herself to her absolute limits but only just scrape through.
The bell rang and Arianna was jerked back into reality she pried herself away from her daydream packed up her things and exited the classroom. She crossed the hallway and shoved her backpack into her locker grabbing out a 20 dollar note BOO Arianna jumped back and saw her friend Kirra. Kirra giggled at Arianna’s reaction ha ha very funny Kirra now let’s go get some lunch I’m starving Kirra shook her head there’s a secret party in the science room and guess who just happened to get 2 invites. Arianna groaned you know they won’t want me there Kirra. So what I want you there plus you need to stop being such a goody goody all the time and let your hair down for once. Im not a goody goody piped up Arianna I just don’t like hanging out in big group’s with a bunch of people I have nothing in common with. Come on Arianna I promise if u doesn’t have any fun we can leave. Fine! said Arianna in an exasperated sort of tone. They made their way down the hallway and into the science room whenever there was a party at school it was always held in the science room as it was the only place in the school that was completely sound proof. As they entered Arianna noticed that all the blinds had been drawn closed and the party was in full swing. Kirra was immediately pulled into a group by the table and Arianna was left standing awkwardly by the door. She began to move awkwardly across the room to get some food when someone bumped into her knocking her of her feet and into a wall of shelves loaded with chemicals and science experiments the shelving collapsed and sent everything crashing down on her she could of died of embarrassment she was drenched in chemicals that had begun to make her skin itch and everyone was staring at her she darted from the room and headed to the gyms changing rooms once there she showered and changed into her spare set of gym clothes she always kept on hand in case she forgot to bring some. Arianna then grabbed her bag retrieved her car keys and set off for the parking lot where her Holden Ute sat she flung her bag in the back turned the ignition on and screeched out of the parking lot she didn’t know where she was headed but she knew anywhere was better than Plymith High school besides I wasn’t like anyone could force her to go back she was 18 and legally classified an adult. She stopped the ute once at her house and hurriedly pulled things from drawers and cupboards stuffing them into bags and suitcases. She grabbed a piece of paper and scrawled Dear Mum and Dad I have been planning this for a while now and have finally decided to take action. I’m setting off on my own and am going to make something of my life you won’t be able to contact me but ill ring u when I can love Arianna. She then grabbed a magnet stuck the note to the fridge and left.
Arianna had been driving for about 3 hours not knowing where she was going or what but she had and exhilarating amount of adrenaline rushing through her she had always saved her money and worked hard at her job she had about 2 thousand dollars in her account but knew it wouldn’t last long once her expense’s started adding up. She rounded the corner pulled into a servo pumped petrol into the car then headed inside to pay for the petrol and buy a map the man behind the counter looked Arianna up and down then said aren’t you a bit young to be out here on your own you look about sixteen Arianna rolled her eyes she got this a lot if you must know I’m 18 she exclaimed. The man looked at her disbelievingly then said if you say so and handed her a map from behind the counter then said I would be careful if I were you bad things can happen to people in these parts. Arianna left the servo got into the car and left the guy at the servo was weird and gave her the creeps but she kept driving occasionally checking to see if anyone was following her after about an hour she pulled over flicked on the car light and began to consult her map she had been heading west and was in a town called Gracia she decided to camp out in the Gracia caravan park for the night and then move on to Chirachi in the morning she turned the car on drove about 200 miles and pulled into the caravan park she paid her 20 dollar admission fee grabbed a tent from the back of the ute pitched it and went to sleep.
Arianna woke with a start her whole body was tingling she opened her eyes and noticed the tent was glowing a dim yellow colour she then looked down at her arm it was covered in electricity on she grabbed a pocket mirror out of her bag and on closer inspection noticed her whole body was alive with electricity she couldn’t believe what was happening it wasn’t even hurting her all it did was make her skin tingle slowly she then pointed her finger toward a torch and willed electricity to come out of it to her amazement the torch lit up it was pretty cool to be able to shoot electricity at people but she couldn’t go around everywhere glowing she began to concentrate she imagined a light switch and the imagined herself flicking it off she breathed a sigh of relief when the glow of her body went away and found she could still use her powers without making her body glow with electricity she decided to get a few more hours sleep and leave early in the morning.
