This war has been waging for 13 years now. It had started from Almire and spread like wildfire through the nearby cities of Wallach, Sanghvi, Bahamad and Vallavi. These cities were already destroyed. This war had destroyed many institutions and families. It had taken away people's happiness. It had taken away my parents from me...
"Come Siya, let's go out. We can go to the nearby garden and skate, darling." My mother smiled.
"Mum, I fell down yesterday. I might get hurt again. I don't want to go." I whined.
"Sweetheart you won't succeed till you try your level best and keep on trying till the end." She replied with a serious note in her voice.
I used to hate things that would bring even the slightest of harm to me. Roller-Skating was one of those things. But I didn't want to disappoint my mother either. So I went there and started skating as I entered the ring.
I saw her every time I completed a lap. When I ended my sixth lap and reached the end, I saw her walking away. She disappeared gradually. I yelled after her.
"Mom! Wait! Where are you going? I'm coming, wait!" I yelled as I tried taking off my skates. But she just kept on walking away from me. Soon after that a bottle full of acid and fire landed in front of me out of nowhere and I screamed.I woke up breathing heavily. I was gasping for air. Calm down, Siya. It was just a dream. I went to the bathroom and splashed some water on my face, washing away the traces of the nightmare. I walked back in my room and sat on the bed. I looked at the clock that hung on the wall. It read six in the morning.
I crawled between the sheets again. I used to get such nightmares after my mother died in a car accident. My father had removed all her photos because I loved her a lot and her death was taking a serious toll on me. So my father took me to a hypnotherapist and made me go through the process of hypnosis and other therapies to make sure that I hardly remembered anything about her.
Yes, it had helped me in coping with the situation at that moment since I was almost suicidal at that time. But as the time passed the effect of the therapy started to wear off and I started remembering vague details about the past. I had panicked and asked my father about it. He revealed what he had put me through. I was stunned. I yelled at him for taking away the only things left of her.
My mother had become a stranger to me after that therapy and all that I was left with, at this very moment was vague memories of her.
* * * *These nightmares had stopped by the time I had turned twelve. I don't understand why I had one today. Her face was distorted in the dream as usual. Everything about her was like that. Anyway, it was not going to lead me anywhere since no matter how hard I tried, I never succeeded in remembering anything about her. Such attempts had only brought back these nightmares only with much more force than usual. Now, I refused to waste my time over it. I had enough on my plate for now. My only agenda was to find Reva for the sake of the integrity of my city and consequently of my country.
