Chapter 1: Meet Cole "Buck" Buchanan

When I was little, there was no such thing as a Purge. There we're crimes, yes, but in the end there was always justice. When the Purge started, I was recently married to Liza Miller. Every Purge, we would lock the doors and stay inside the house and waited out. Of course, we we're always ready for the worst but that never came. We we're married for almost 20 years. We had a beautiful baby boy named Aren. During my 20 years of marriage I was a police officer in Minnesota. I don't brag but I was one of the best. My wife was a real estate woman and my son, at the time of the last year's Purge, he was about 6 years old. During last year's Purge, someone managed to break through our defenses and into our house. I managed to push back the intruders but they still got to my son and wife. My wife was killed trying to protect Aren and later he was taken. I had no choice, I had to go out into the Purge to find him. I spent all night trying to find him, but when I got to him it was already too late. My son was publicly executed by the men hired from John Wicman. He was the last kill before the clock stroke 7am the other day. I couldn't do anything about it, I was forced to sit down and watch my family die. After that, I couldn't go back to the force so I had to retire. It's been over a year since this happened. I had more than enough time to prepare for this Purge. I have developed a plan to take down the Man that killed my family, and while doing so, I will take his. An eye for an eye.
