This is basically a one shot but I decided to post each page as a chapter! :) Hope you like it for I have been working on this for a month now! =) TRAILER ON THE SIDE BY @elizaren_

A Late November Evening

It was unusually cold for a late November evening. The sun had just settled with traces of scattered beams decorating the night sky.

Eleanor sauntered into the park, barefoot. Dressed from head to toe in white, Eleanor did not know what she was doing there. She had no idea why she ran away from the Chapel, to this park, and sadly even broke her silver heels as she did. She constantly was racking her brain to understand where her valiance disappeared leaving behind a trail of unfamiliar jitters.

After breaking up with Louis, life wasn't easy on her. She tried to find glimpses of him in other people and cherish what they had special as couple, because she still loved him and believed in them. But it was not something she openly admitted to herself or to anyone else. For her, he was now her past and even though he clouded her mind everyday, she never had the audacity to admit her  feelings.

The soft cold grass crumpled under her bare feet feeling a little ticklish, as she traipsed. Rustling sound made by the soft blowing winds, soothed the mental pain and pressure she was under. Her dark brown silky curls bounced lightly on her shoulders as she scanned the park and quietly took in the view. She always found it reassuring and relaxing here which she craved now, more than ever. Just as her eyes landed on her usual spot, she happily sprinted to where it stood.

A shiver ran through her when her body touched the cold metal bench while she lay her broken pumps on the grass near her feet. Adjusting herself so she was comfortably seated, she ran her artistically long thin fingers through her hair, silently appreciating the view. The sole reason that this particular bench in the park was her favourite was because she could see the bustling city's skyline from up here. It was always comforting in ways not possible to be voiced. Watching the gleaming lights and constant faint buzz of the heavy traffic in her ears, pacified her. She closed her eyes lightly and took in a deep breath as a single tear rolled down her cheek. Her hands instantly flew up to wipe them away. She thought it was best to sidetrack all her emotions because it was too vexing for her fragile being.

She opened her eyes to drink in the view again and drifted into ardent thoughts. She thought about everything, all decisions of her life, getting almost married to a wrong but extraordinarily sweet man being one of them. Maybe she was just rushing into things. Maybe she should admit her feelings for Louis.

Her thoughts were so consuming that she did not notice when the empty place beside her got occupied. It wasn't until the person cleared his throat that Eleanor looked up.

The sight that awaited her, took her by surprise. She was not expecting this, not even in her most irrelevant and wildest dreams. She practically stopped breathing for a few seconds and blinked hard twice only to be sure she was not hallucinating.

He really was here. Beside her. Right now. After twelve months of telling her that he felt empty with her.

"I didn't know you still come here," Louis was the first one to speak, breaking the uncomfortable silence in which they sat for never ending minutes. Eleanor simply bobbed her head up and down in response as both of them turned back to gaze at the huge towers with little specks of twinkling light.

It had almost been a year since they had last seen each other or spoken and none of them was prepared for this random coincidental meeting in park. Right in this spot, where Louis first took her on their third date. When he first spoke about his emotions and said those three words and eight letters Eleanor had been craving to hear the moment she laid eyes on him.

The air between them grew dizzy and both of them did not speak for a long time as another agonizing silence settled. Memories, happy and sad, occupied both their thoughts.

"What are you doing here?" Eleanor asked Louis, seemingly interested.

"The new album reached number three on UK billboard and there's a party going on. But," he said as he shook his head, "I just didn't feel like a party."

She nodded again as the conversation died the second time.

Not being able to last any longer, "I ran halfway through my own wedding," she enunciated distinctively and slowly. Her eyes quickly dropped to her left hand as she examined her empty marriage finger where a heavy diamond studded engagement ring stood, only a few hours ago.

"I guessed," he replied with a barely audible chuckle guessing from her white flowy dress and empty finger, his lively side and humor peeking through his words.

Dedication to @Scyrenne for the amazing cover! :)
