A promise. A commitment. A word of mouth.

"Do you think we should give it a shot again?" Louis ruptured the delightful stillness with a string of charming words that lit up Eleanor's charismatic features.

Her heart fluttered at his words as a wave of bliss washed over her. The glint returned to her brown eyes along with a smile, playing on her full lips, that only Louis could ever manage to induce. She looked up to meet his eyes, unable to read any emotion. His stoicism echoed as she decided to question him verbally, for no emotion of his showed what he really wanted.

"I don't know. Do you?"

He turned to look at the petite beauty in his arms. A perfection wrapped in his embrace. He untangled their bodies making her lose all contact with him, physically.

"It's been a year yet here we are. None of us could possibly move on. Your runaway wedding and my numerous hook ups are enough proof. It's been twelve months and not one of us could erase what we were or what we had. Three sixty five days and still we carry a thought at the back of our minds thinking of what our future could have been. Missing the presence of the other, having petty things remind us of the other and the endless nights spent crying or in remembrance, screams out loud that we are meant to be together, El."

Having her hopes dip at the loss of his touch, a butterfly still managed to somersault in her stomach. The string of intricate words woven by Louis to answer her made her belief in their relationship rise like a phoenix, dead from the ashes. Unknowingly the corners of her lips turned upward to reveal a smile along with flushed cheeks and neck. He returned the same smile for the simple reason that he was one who clawed this reaction out of her.

He was right and they both knew it. Even though she had, all this time, been struggling to not agree but now she did. No one compared to Louis, for her and similar for him.

"So, what do you think?"

He asked still confused. He ripped his heart only to have it settle at her feet and wait for approval. Though every emotion that played on Eleanor's face bellowed affirmation, still needed the sound of it to reach his ears.

"I think you are right. Everything you said is true to the last syllable. I have never been happy without you. If I start listing the best moments of my life I bet I wouldn't find one that didn't involve you. And I plan it to be that way so I think we need to try again because when it's not about you, I'm not happy. I think we need to try again because we are meant to be together and that is why we are here today. Because Louis, I think this is fate bringing us together."

Right that second Louis' happiness knew no bound. The unfamiliar feeling spread over him making him a little uncomfortable given the fact that he had not felt this way in over twelve months. But now he did and there was no better feeling in the world. Not even the feeling of singing in a stadium with thousands of fans shouting his name. Nothing.

He lunged forward, by the mere distance they were separated by and hugged her to him. Letting himself fall into imagination of what they will be, from now. How he will not let anything get between them this time. How he was not going to mess up again.

"I love you a lot, Louis. Enough to be willing to do this again. And not just this time but many more, if this happens again. But I know that won't happen 'cause you won't let it."

She smiled for she couldn't find any other way of letting her emotions out. She hugged him close to her, letting his warmth seep through their clothes and engulf her in a sense of protection.

"I promise we'll be better this time." He responded and they both knew how much he meant it. They both knew that now, nothing will go wrong. They love each other, always have always will and just needed this late November evening to be reminded of it all.
