Study-Date.

Chapter 3: Unexpected lab parter.

Mason's POV~

     Even after lunch had passed and I was in my next class, I was still thinking after all that had happened between Mari and Jackson during lunch. I mainly couldn't get my mind off of Bree and I just had all my anger focused on Jackson.
     How dare he even go near Mari..! I tried getting my head out of the topic before the teacher came in and assigned us our seats

     "Welcome class! This is your new chemistry lab! Three students per table. Sit where you please!"

     As she said that, I quickly noticed Bree sitting alone in a table, a smile shot up in my face and I headed her way. "Hey Mari!" I noticed when I said that, someone else said it at the same time.

     I turned and saw Jackson sitting next to her. I growled under my breath and sat to her left while Jackson was on her right. That cretin! He's not winning that easily...

     "So hey Bree! What's up!" Said Jackson. I quickly interrupted him by saying "I was just about to ask her that too!" With a forced smile on my face. I could tell Bree was uncomfortable so I came to save the day and actually try to have a decent conversation.

"So how was your lunch Bree?" I bravely ask.

Bree's POV~

     I wondered if he had seen what happened during lunch...I couldn't help blushing. All I thought of was Jackson... And I didn't notice but I caught myself looking at Jackson at the corner of my eye.

     I quickly directed my attention to Bart and responded "Just f-fine! The food was nice..." I mentally slapped myself in the face. That was such a stupid response Bree! I thought to myself. Ugh, my mindset isn't even supposed to be on boys. Rather just focus on my studies and getting a scholarship. If I'm going to graduate ahead of my class, then I better up my grades.

     "Hey Bree, watcha' thinking about?" said Jackson...I could tell he was trying to break up the silence. Oh no, what do I say! But I was quickly interrupted by our chemistry teacher announcing something.

     "Okay students! We will be starting your first lab project!" Everyone groaned in unison. "Oh you all sound very excited! Well, shall we commence? Teams of two everyone, and pick quickly as I do not have much time." I instinctively thought damnit, I have nobody to work with but then Jackson and Mason both flashed me a look.

I could tell this was going to be bad.

     I panicked, and I pretended like I didn't see them both look at me.  Thank the gods that I heard a friendly voice from behind me say "Hey! You're the new girl right? You seem nice, my name is Alexis. Just call me Alex!"

     I turned around and greeted her. "Do you want to be my lab partner?" I bravely ask. Obviously she's going to say no, she doesn't even know you. And plus you're a total freak Bree. "Sure! Pleasure to make new friends".

     We both started talking about bands and what we were interested in, and she seemed so cool! I knew I'd be great friends with her, we were both interested in basically the same things! At least I can relate to someone and not feel like a complete loner.

     Anyways, the rest of the day was just a big blur. As soon as i got home, i plopped myself down on my bed and opened up my laptop. Alexis had given me her Skype, so we could discuss our project anywhere we go. Apparently she had some history with Bart...she didn't explain to me what happened, she just said that it was all taken care of. That was weird... whatever, I didn't want to ask too many questions; after all we literally just met.

    Ugh, I must have fallen asleep watching cat videos (again). Why must i be so lonely. I woke up on my bed with my laptop on the floor and my glasses in my hair. What time is it? Oh no IT'S 7:00! I'm going to be so late...

    I didn't have time to change, so i ended up going to school in my sweatpants and hoodie...Not a cute look. Eh, this day will hopefully end quicker if i just don't think about it.
