Waking up to Lada still in hs arms brought a smile to Pan's face. In the early morning light, her features looked so restful, kissable...no. He shouldn't think of her in that way. Especially since all of those thoughts would never amount to anything realistic. She only saw him in the eyes of a friend, would never regard him as anything more than that. But. But there was always that childlike hope that arose inside him, that undeniable thought that ate away at his brain's logical thought processes, that "what if" factor-"What if she actually liked me back?" "What if I actually stood a chance with that girl?"
She stirred slightly, then wrinkled up her nose as she glared at the sunlight already pouring in -summer time sucked for that reason and that reason alone in Lada's eyes- which broke Pan out of his thoughts. (Her nose scrunch also made her undeniably cute in his eyes, so no complaints ever arose from that side.) "Morning douchebag," she whispered, smirking up at Pan. Her lips were soft, rosy and only made him want to kiss her more than he ever could before, and the way the light caught her face, she looked angelic. "Hey, what's up? You're not joking back like you normally do?" She questioned, pouting slightly, which didn't help Pan's case that much.
"Hmm? Oh, I was just thinking," he smiled at her, and she rolled her eyes, pushing herself up off the bed.
"Whatever, we need to start getting ready. Still got school to deal with, unfortunately!" She sighed, pulling off her vest top and grabbing her uniform shirt, popping the buttons up and shifting her hair every which way, which made Pan fall even more for her. He knew that the whole idea of liking her was essentially fruitless, but it was doubtful that it would stop him from trying every single trick in the book, even if the conclusion of all his efforts to get her to see him in a different light were all in vain. A fruitless idea indeed.

"Lada!" Jo clicked her fingers in front of the girl's face, which earned her a tired glare. "Are you even listening to me?" She glared angrily back at the girl, who clearly looked worse for wear, as if something was troubling her and weighing on her mind for the whole of the day. And there was, unknown to the others around her; Lada was confused about Pan's actions earlier that morning. When they got to school, he acted weirdly, as if he had some sort of chip on his shoulder. But she'd done nothing to him to make him act in such a way. Sure, most guys got moody occasionally - that was all part of growing up - but nothing could have compared to the bitter cold of his sharp tone when he spoke to her the rest of that day.
"Lada, right?" Ezra walked up to her, which immediately brought her out of her annoyed stupor. Pan could wait - for now. Ezra stood in front of her, smiling softly. His blond hair shimmered in the artificial light above them in the canteen, and his eyes seemed bluer than usual (if that was even possible for him). " Are you staying behind to finish up on coursework?" Her heart beat a mile a minute, and it felt like it could break out of her chest if it went any faster.
"Um...y-yeah. I w-was planning o-on staying ton-night," she stuttered, blushing slightly and wanting to bury herself several miles underground with the way this interaction was actually going. Why was it that every single time she ever tried to talk to the guy, it always ended up with a ton of blushing or stammering on her behalf?
"Great! Is it cool if I work with you on my piece? Only, I'd rather work with you than anyone else in the class, purely because...well, I get on better with you, I guess," he shrugged and she paused, taking this information in. Her mind was racing, but still somehow unable to communicate with her mouth, to the point where all Lada could do was smile and nod. "Awesome, shall we say yours tonight at 4? Message me your address," he said, slipping her a piece of paper with his number on it and sauntering off to rejoin Darcy, breaking Lada's heart slowly in the process.

Half an hour. That's all she had to get ready for Ezra's arrival. Her hair was the right amount of messy (i.e. a casual messy that required no work whatsoever) and her room smelled like Japan in springtime, just the right combination of everything for the night. Granted all they were doing was studying, but she still wanted to make a good impression on the guy. That's why, when he knocked on the front door at 5 (an hour out from his expected time, but still feasible for the night), she immediately ran down the stairs as if she was doing an impression of Barry Allen, only to open the door to a sad smile etched on his chiselled features.
Something about the guy seemed off, so when she invited him in for the night, she made sure to keep a close eye on him, on his posture, his stature in general and his speech (or lack thereof to begin with) as she offered him tea ("Earl Grey, if you have any"). Tonight was holding out to be an incredibly long night.
