As I run in the forest from the unavoidable walkers with my husband a few yards ahead of me, I think to myself this is it. This is my ending.
Just as I think that, I trip over a large tree root and tumble down a hill covered in long grass. The hill is fairly large, probably ten to twelve feet above another flat ground level. When I reach the bottom, my head hits a rock. The pain is excruciating, but I dont pass out. Instead, I am overwhelmed by feeling light headed. I hear my husband, Joseph, calling my name, but i cant respond.
I lay there for a second, trying to figure out how that happened and what I should do next. I feel a line of warmth seeping down my face and it takes me a moment to realize that it's blood.
Great. I'm not gonna die by walkers. I'll probably bleed out first. I lay my head down and decide not to fight it. There's no point in trying if I'm probably gonna die anyways.
Suddenly, I hear the sound of leaves rustling, but before I could look at what was coming, I pass out.
