Valosian stared out over the vast oceans of Ninjago. The seaside beach was beautiful. The sky was brilliant shades of yellow, pink, lavender, red and orange. It was times like this that Valos stopped and thought about what being what he was really meant. Being an elemental would seem cool to most.
But not for Valos. He had fire. He assumed that if he ever had children, one of them would follow in those footsteps. That's what Valos was terrified of. Fire was almost a cruel element. A lot of people were scared of it. Valos understood. Fire could burn everything, could kill...
COULD KILL...
Those words rang in Valos's ears like a bell. It stirred terrible memories in the back of his brain. His own mother had perished in a fire. He preferred not to talk about it. It had scarred him. Deeply. His father had nearly given Valosian up, but then it was discovered that Valos hadn't been the cause.
Valos shook his head. Tears were streaming down his cheeks. He didn't understand why he kept thinking about it if it hurt him. No, not hurt. Scarred him for life. Seeing his mother be killed right in front of him had been horrific, something that his eight year old self shouldn't have had to see. But, he had seen it. He couldn't erase it from his brain.
Before the raven haired elemental realized what was going on, he found himself crying. It wasn't something he did very often, but he did do it occasionally.
"What's wrong..?" Valos heard behind him. He knew who the gentle, calm voice belonged to. It belonged to his fiancée, Lunesta. She was the master of water. In Valos's mind, there could be no true better pairing than him and...her...
Everything about Luna was stunning. From her long brown hair to her baby blue eyes. She was perfect. Her beauty sometimes had Valos tripping over his own words, leaving him unable to form sentences. In other, she was gorgeous.
And, she was something else.
She was his.
She was his, and forever would be. He felt very lucky to have her. After all, opposites DID attract.
Luna sat next to her crying husband-to-be. She put her arm around him. "Are you okay?" she asked him. Valos looked at her. He slowly shook his head, his spiky black hair glimmering in the newly arrived moonlight. His tears seemed to gleam.
Luna put her other arm around her husband-to-be and hugged him. Valos sniffled.
"There. Better..?" she asked him.
Valos sniffled and wiped a tear from his light green eyes. His mustache and goatee glimmered in the bath of moonlight. He stared at his wife-to-be. He took her hand, wrapping his fingers around her slender ones.
She looked at him, a questioning look in her ocean blue eyes.
He looked back and smiled.
He then put his arms around her and gave her a kiss.
Luna was taken back, but soon she put her arms around her husband-to-be. And kissed him back.
The couple remained in this pose for a long while, knowing that they had each other to support themselves.
And would always.
Always.
