Chapter 6: A day without her part 2

"oh, uhm- okay." Sianne said to no one in particular. The numbness was slowly fading away but the pain was replacing it. After Kleigh walked away, she felt like the earth beneath her just crumbled. Her heart felt like it was being squeezed to the point like it was going to burst. She turned around to see the the president's secretary with wide eyes and pity. At that point, she felt like crying but smiled instead. 

Sianne knew that it was a joke to him. She didn't know why his words hurt him when she only knew him for a few days. But no, his eyes, his smile affected her. The moment she saw his eyes, she felt warm and tingly inside. The kiss was icing on top and she felt at that second that she wanted to be with him, that the time for investigating was done, that he was right for her. 

She walked away from the pitying eyes and went to her dorm room. The small, ocean blue painted room always made her feel better but not today. 

I'm such an idiot. Sianne sighed and laid down on her bed. She closed her eyes and just let her tears fall. Why am I even crying? Ha, it's not like I was his girlfriend. His words kept replaying on her head. She stood back up and went to her closet to find her sweatpants a shirt. Might as well take a jog.

"Damn it! " Kleigh felt the urge to punch someone. The merger in San Francisco was disastrous and his father now wants him to get married to save the company. I need more time! After the meeting at the University, his father called to tell him that he's getting married in a few months. He snapped and threw his phone which hit the wall just above the secretary's head. Without apologizing, he turned towards the hallway and collided with Sarah. 

Back at his hotel, he talked to his father again and he got him to wait for at least a year. He sighed as they came to an agreement and his thoughts went back to Sarah. He was tired and angry, she wasn't supposed to be there. He felt bad and he didn't mean it but he can't let her get to him. She was beautiful and he knows that she's smart, but she has to get that he wasn't interested. Ugh, what the hell, I gotta apologize. 

He looked at the clock at his bedside and saw that it was already five in the afternoon. He planned to go to the University in the morning again to talk to her. He has to apologize before he leaves.

Sianne woke up at the alarm. She turned it off and went to shower. After jogging, she got so tired she went straight to bed. After showering, she put her red, wet hair in a bun. She wore a black shirt and black jeans with black converse. All black, just like my life. Sianne shrugged and went to her class. 

Lunch! Finally! Sianne just got out of the classroom and took out her phone to call Ally when she saw Kleigh. She stared at him as he walked closer, he was wearing blue jeans with a white button up shirt. His hair disheveled. 

"Sianne, I have to talk-"

"Oh, well I'm busy." She passed by him and walked away. What does he want now? 

"I-uh, wait!" He catched up to her but she wasn't sure if it was wise to turn around. She doesn't have any idea how she could talk to him. Apparently, I'm brainless. 

"I don't want to talk to you okay?" Sianne didn't let him catch up to her. She went straight to her next class without eating.

Kleigh couldn't take a step forward and let her be. He wasn't sure what to say. She wasn't his friend, especially girlfriend but he couldn't stop thinking about the look she had when he yelled at her. He went  to the nearest place where he could buy food and it was subway. He suddenly remembered the way she would smile and her eyes would sparkle. He ran his hand through his hair and walked in. 

Kleigh has been in subway for three hours and he couldn't decide what to do. He would get up and sit down thinking it was a bad idea to talk to her. A few seconds later he saw her outside walking with her friend and he ran outside.

"Isn't that your hot but gay friend?" 

"What? " Sianne stopped walking and turned around to see Kleigh walking towards her again. He was wearing the same clothes he was wearing earlier. She turned back around and started walking away, half running. 

"Hey, where are you going?" Ally called her but she didn't listen and went towards their dorm building. 

"Wait- wait. Come on, just let me explain. " He catched up to her and grabbed her hand.  She didn't move, her heart was pounding in her chest and she wasn't sure if it was because of his hand on hers or the fact that she just ran. 

"Alright, just- not here. Let go of my arm first." She said, catching her breath. 

"Will you promise to not run away?" Sianne couldn't look him in the eyes and nodded.

"Let's go to my dorm then." Sianne looked at Kleigh to see his eyes wide with shock. "Don't worry, I'm not gonna rape you. It's better to talk there than stand here. It's nearby." 

Kleigh cleared his throat and said "Okay, let's go."

Kleigh was now standing in front of Sianne who was sitting down on her bed. 

"So, what did you want to say?" She searched his eyes.

"Well, I want to- uh, I'm sorry?" 

"Are you asking me? or are you stating the fact that you were wrong to say what you said?" Kleigh groaned then sighed.

"Yeah, I'm sorry" What is up with me? 

"Okay, then. " Kleigh looked at Sianne and knew right then why he was there. She was wearing all black and her shirt was baggy but he couldn't look away. He was checking her out and he couldn't help himself. It was like there's a magnetic pull whenever he's close to her. 

"Okay? So we're good right? "

"Yup." Sianne said popping the 'p'. 

"So, we're frie-"

"No, not really. I mean, I was pushing myself to you but obviously I'm a bother so no. " Kleigh wasn't sure if he saw the hurt flash in her eyes because it was suddenly replaced by a blank look. 

"Well, you'll be helping me look for some of the other students so we'll be friends. " Sianne got up and walked towards the door, opening it.

"Okay, so will you leave now? " Sianne looked at him and turned away. He walked towards her and couldn't help but hug her. He got off of her and  saw her shocked expression. 

"Bye."

Sianne couldn't move. His hug felt warm and comfortable. She felt her body tingling so she just looked at him. 

The moment she got back to reality she closed the door. She was about to call her friend when she heard a knock. She went to get just to see Kleigh standing in front of her again. 

"Why are you-" Sianne couldn't finish the sentence because he held on to her waist and cupped her face with his other arm and kissed her. His lips brushed against hers gently and he let go of her, much to her dismay.
