Music shook my ears as the choir started up. The sweet melody calming me down as i moved my lips to match the words. I took a glance at the students around me to see if they would notice absolutely no sound coming from me. They didnt. I let out a small sigh and kept the words moving through my head. If you were going to lip-sync to a song you needed to put in the time and effort of fully memorizing it. No mistakes allowed. I focused hard, making every word as believable as i could. I though i caught a side glance from the student to my left but it could have just been my imagination. My choir teacher is standing in front of the stage, staring each and every one of us down. I avoid eye contact and instead looked intently at the wall in front of me. It was a few feet away from the stage, making the choir room very crampped and small. But at least it was better compared to the basement, where the other school choir practiced. We had to move to a room far away from there because fights usually tend to break out between the 2 rivaling choirs. But not normal fights..... Singing battles. Two teams one from each choir verse each other given the theme. I had always wanted to attend one of those battles, feel the beat running through me as i sang, putting the other team to shame . I suddenly sink back into reality and focus on my words instead of the peeling wall. But nothing seems to come to my head. I panic, have i forgotten the words? Do i look like a total idiot? It took me but a glance at my chorus teacher to tell me that i had not forgetten anything except that the song was over.
