I woke in my slightly messy room with sun coming through the window dancing around on the yellow wallpaper that had been placed on the wall before I even moved here. The sun shone right on my face being reflected from the old mirror on the wall that I found from and old building close to my house. The room was cool from the window being open all night and the fan blowing on me with all it's power. I moved the red sheets aside and sat up slowly stretching my arm and cracking my back with a yawn escaping my mouth. I looked around the room thinking of what to do. Maybe take a shower and eat some breakfast.
My gaze lowered to floor of the small room and the mess on it. There were two blanket's on the ground gathering dust, a jacket I left there inside-out last night, a bag of chips under the tabled that was left there after my best friend visited last week, other random trash in the corner next to the trash, school books scattered around, some of the books were the ones I used in school, some were from sixth grade. Wonder why I still have those..
I moved my feet to the edge of the bed, ready to get up and turn down the fan before the room got too cold since it wasn't really summer yet. I placed my feet on the ground and felt something hard under my right foot. I looked down and saw a dark small case that looked like it was made out of weak plastic.
I reached out for the case feeling the cool smooth surface. The case was really light like it was filled with nothing but air. I turned it around in my hands trying to figure out what it was, how to open it or how it even appeared here. My family rarely gave me anything and if they did, they would leave it on my desk. I stood up and walked carefully to the other side of the room to the desk trying not to step on anything. I fished the scissors from among all the pencils, erasers and hair ties from a small purple jar on my light colored desk that I got from my grandmother couple of years ago.
I walked back to my bed and sat down on the soft furniture. I carefully cut one side of the case. There was a slip of paper in the case that caught my eye. I removed it from the case but before getting to read what was written on it, two small creatures fell from the case. When they rose back from the ground in to the cool air of the room I realized they were orange-y yellow butterflies, bigger than normal ones. They flew around me making small high pitched sounds. I couldn't make out if they were actually saying something but I felt like I should let them out.
I got up again walking to the window with the beautiful insects following me. When I neared the window, a breeze hit my face making my reddish brown hair flow around me. I shielded my eyes from the sun continuing towards the window. I opened the window wider, just then remembering that there was a net to keep bugs from getting in. I looked around if there was any way I could let them out. I noticed a small slit on the net so I reached out and ripped it a little bit bigger so the butterflies could fit through it.
The butterflies still circled around me and the room suddenly seemed bigger and bigger with every passing second. Only now were the butterflies going towards the hole to flee to freedom, but me with them. I started to get blinded by the bright light of the sun, still nearing the hole. I had no idea what was going on, what they wanted with me or how this all was even happening. There wasn't much I could do though.
I closed my eyes to shield them and opened them when I felt a hard breeze trying to rip we with it to where ever it was going. We flew higher and higher until we were above the small amount of clouds that were scattered around the blue ceiling of our planet. When my eyes got used to the brightness of the outside world, I noticed a high building that seemed like a hospital. The building had many floors and the light walls of it had a purple tint to them. We flew to the top and landed gracefully. I looked around and only saw more clouds and more sky around the building.
I walked around trying to maybe find a staircase that I could use to go inside but I found none. I turned around to look at the butterflies questioningly. They hovered above a purple slide covered in yellow glowing stars, the kind that you could find in a bouncy castle, just longer. It was so long I couldn't see the end because it went down through the clouds.
I walked closer looking between the slide and the butterflies.
"No, I am totally not going down that," I shook my head and backed away.
I felt a force dragging me towards the slide. I tried to back away but I had nothing to hold on to and I lost the contact with the ground. I was placed on the slide and felt the force disappear. I slid down faster than I thought was possible. The slide felt even longer than it looked like. What if there was no end. All this was weird enough anyways, anything could happen.
I finally hit the wet cold clouds and lost all my senses.
