pine needles fall to the ground

barely a thought

and light as a feather.

moss grows through my veins

as the water washes over my body

salt water and seaweed

as the overwhelming smell of the ocean

fills my senses.

summer days with cool evenings

sticky and humid

fill my head

as i think about the time ive spent

wondering

wandering.

stumbling through the wood

stammering over my words.

stale saltwater brushes my skin

as the half-moon shines over me
