Ramen

I'm sitting on the floor in front of the Hokage's office. I can't make out anything they're saying but I know they're talking about me.

The talking stops and I'm greeted into the room by an woman with short black hair. I walk in and everyone is staring at me.

It's very uncomfortable. I scan the room to examine each person.

I see the Hokage, Kakashi of the Sharengan, Inoichi, the woman who greeted me in and a man with plaiting on his face.

"I feel like this is an intervention" I admit.

"Akari, do you know what a tailed beast is?" The Hokage asks.

I stop to think a bit. I've heard my family (the Akatsuki) talk about the before.

"I think soo... They're basically demon animals with tails h'm. I think really powerful. There's ten of them right?" I ask.

"Nine," Kakashi adds.

"No," I point out, "there's ten. Overhearda conversation between my father and and Zetsu about a ten tailed beast un."

"Your father?" The Hokage asks with interest.

"P-" seriously!?!? I can't even say the name of my own father!? "Sorry," I apologize to the Hokage, "There's a jutsu keeping me from saying any 'information'." Lady Hokage nods. "So what does the tailed beasts have to do with anything?"

"We believe you may be a jinjuriki," Kakashi adds.

"What's a jinjuriki h'm?" I ask.

The Hokage takes a deep breath. "It means the Akatsuki have been keeping a tailed beast inside you.... And raising you for slaughter."

My fist tenses and I clench my teeth. That's my family she's talking about! They'd never do that to me! "You're wrong! They wouldn't do that! I know them!! They're family!" Tears start streaming out.

How dare they judge my family like that! I turn around and dash out the room. I never should have ran away. I don't think anyone is following me. I have no idea where I'm going.

I turn a sharp corner and run right into Naruto. My foot gets caught on his foot and I start falling forward. Naruto quickly grabs my arm and pulls me to me feet.

"Thanks," I say. Then I realize I'm still crying so I turn my head so he doesn't see.

"Hey, what's wrong?" He asks kindly.

"Nothing h'm."

"Hey, I'm headed to the Ramen shop. Wanna come?"

"....sure..."

We walk in silence for a bit. Hey look! It's the ramen shop!! Is that why he smells like ramen all the time? We both sit down and the ramen guy gives us each a bowl of miso ramen.

"This smells really good," I compliment. Naruto laughs. "What's so funny un?"

"You haven't had ramen before? That's sad!"

"It's not my fault! Tobi always forces Deidara and I to go to dumpling shops!"

Naruto takes a chopstick's full of ramen and holds it out to me. "Try it!"

I sweat drop. "You do realize I have my own bowl right?"

"Shut up and try it already!" He yells as he shoves the ramen into my mouth. I make a funny/annoyed noise at him and start chewing.

"Oh. My. God. This is heaven yeah."

"Told you!" We continue eating. "So why we're you crying?" Naruto asks. Why would he care? He knows I'm with the Akatsuki.

"Lady Hikage said the Akatsuki is raising me for slaughter. She's wrong though. They'd never do that to me."

I hear footsteps coming from behind us. I turn around to see Kakashi.

"I never thought is find you here," He says.

"Hey! Kakashi Sensei!" Naruto says.

"Ok Akari, you have a choice. You're probably going to be staying here for quite a while so you'll need a place to stay. Of course, you'll have to be out under 24/7 supervision. No offense. You can either stay with me, Yamuto, Guy, or Kurenai. You'd probably choose Kurenai, seemings how you're both.....Female...." Kakashi offers.

"I'd like to stay with Naruto. Uh.... If you're fine with it Naruto," I ask.

"Uh... Sure.... I guess....." Naruto says.

"Well, I don't see why not. As long as you keep an eye on her Naruto," Kakashi adds, "I'll report this to the Hokage."

And just like that he's off. Naruto and I finish our ramen and Naruto stands up. "Alright! Where to next!?" He asks.

"Um... Why don't you.... Show me around?"

"Good idea! Lets go!!"

We start walking all around the village. He points out a lot of interesting buildings. We come to a street. There's a group of kids out age. I look at each of them with interest.

My eyes stop at the pink haired one from before. I can't believe I didn't realize..... She's the one who killed Sasori. My mind blanks and I walk strait up to her.

A tear rolls down my cheek. I raise my hand and smack her. "Hey! What was that for!?" She asks in shock.

Everyone else is shocked as well. "You're the one who killed Sasori are you not yeah? I don't blame you for doing so but...." I drop my gaze, "he was basically my brother."

I look at Naruto and see understanding in his eyes. "I'm sorry you lost someone dear to you but it had to be done. If not, some of us would be dead right now," she says.

"I see," I think out loud. I turn around and start walking, not caring where I'm going.
