Too late

[WENDY POV]

I was awoken by loud banging on the door. I got up and slowly went down the stairs since i was half awake and half asleep.

*BANG* *BANG* *BANG*

"Im coming!"i yell.

"HELP !!!WENDY!!!" I hear a familiar voice scream from outside.

My eyes popped open from the sound, i ran to the door and swung it open. I saw no body i walked a few more steps forward but saw no one.

I swore i heard Ariels voice I thought i walked back inside and closed the door and went back to room and fell asleep.

It was the next day and had no call nor text from Ariel which was weird since she's the first one to text in the mornings for we can talk about what are we going to wear.

I got up and did what I normally did every morning after that i went downstairs and ate breakfast.

"Wendy look" my mom says pointing to the television.

I slowly walk up the tv to see Ariels house.

"In other news theirs has been a break in , in  Ms. Waters house last night. kidnapper on the lose if you have seen this man please report to the police he has a girl name Ariel held captive so lock your doors, protect your children,and stay safe" the news reporter says.

"Oh god" i say under my breath.

"Its going to be okay Wendy they'll find her" my mom pulls me closer to her and gives me tight hug as she watches the tv with photos of Ariels house with her door window broken and polices around.

I start to remember what happened earlier i knew i heard her but i was too late, Tears start rolling down my cheek , if I wasn't so slow she could have been here with me alive.

I swipe my tears away and grab my stuff and head school. I thought and thought and thought of what happened last night.....it was my fault. As I thought to myself i got to school and head straight to class.

As i got in i saw Aaron and didn't bother to say nothing. Till a few minutes has passed he came up to me.

"Wendy where is Ariel? I haven't seen her in 2 days" he asks in concern.

"They kidnapped her" i said and the only words i said.

Once i said those words he looked at me with a pale face like if he just seen a ghost.

"Tell me its not true" he pleaded.

I stood their in silence and with a knot in my throat.

"I thought you knew?" I say clearing my throat.

" i didn't...."

"Well umm in the news said that theirs had been a break in last night and shows her window broken and a police everywhere"

I say before the bell rings and he goes sits down and hasn't said a word all day .

After silent hours i looked at where Ariel sat it felt like she has passed away but instead kidnapped and no one knew where she was.

No sign on anything..... And it was all my fault.....

After school was over i went straight home but on the way passed Ariels house. I decided to see for myself and cops where still their looking for evidence. In which they didn't let me in to see what has happened , I wondered where was Ms.waters.

I then left and went straight to my room without saying a single word to my parents. I sat on my bed and kept replaying the memory and couldn't get it out of my head.

I sat on my bed and cried all day and cried myself to sleep.....
