Love sometimes makes you tired. Because loving is a long, long walk that tires even the greatest athlete. You look back and realize that you actually haven't advanced much, and that the path ahead seems infinite.
To fall in love you have to know that you'll feel like fainting at the middle of the way, so you have to know the right moment to rest, to give the journey a break, and instead of running, walk. The fast hare couldn't beat the slow tortoise. Rome wasn't built in a day.
And Jimin couldn't make Yoongi fall for him in six months.
Certainly, it's not something that makes him happy, but he keeps his smile before the older's frown. He repeats himself he has to think positively, that it's already a big accomplishment that Yoongi has accepted to go out with him, that it's hard for the green-haired to express his emotions.
But it's so hard to fake being okay facing constant rejection, that smiling hurts more each day. He's started to get tired and to ask himself if it'd be better to stop here before the damage in his heart becomes irreparable.
"Hyung," he whispers and the older boy looks at him from the corner of his eye, "do you love me?"
Yoongi twists his mouth, uncomfortable, and moves on his seat without saying a word, nor looking away from the cafeteria's window.
"I'm sure I love you," Jimin stares at him, Yoongi opens his mouth, surely to shut him up, but the redhead is faster and continues with something he's wanted to say for a while, "but I don't think you love me. And that's okay, because I can't make you do it. So..."
"What?" Yoongi asks, facing Jimin for the first time in an hour.
"I don't know. Maybe I should stop being so insistent and stop bothering you. Don't you think?" he smiles, or that's what he thinks he does.
The green-haired boy is left speechless for a short time. Jimin seems to notice a hint of sadness on his expression, but it is so vague that the younger can't guarantee if it's true.
Yoongi goes back to his serious facet and extends one of his hands to touch one of the redhead's cheeks, and Jimin realizes he's wiped a tear. The redhead's crying. Yoongi tightened his own lips together.
"Yeah, you should do that."
The younger lets out a chuckle and gets up. Not hurt anymore, only tired of a new rejection. He wipes his tears and pretends to be strong once more.
