It's been ten years since I dealt with Cipher...Since I faced XD001, the Shadow Pokemon who supposedly couldn't be purified. After I defeated Greevil and purified the Shadow Pokemon Cipher created, including the Shadow Lugia, who was thought to be immune to purification, Cipher had disappeared. Perhaps they disbanded, or simply gave up. I don't know for sure.

I've always been alert since the criminal syndicate disappeared; there was always that one possibility Cipher could return, and try the same scheme they had tried before. I've never stopped training my Pokemon, even after Cipher had vanished. My younger sister Jovi, now at the age of fourteen, had pestered me when I was at the age of fifteen and she was at the age of nine, to help her become a Pokemon Trainer, and make her Pokemon stronger. After a week of her constant requests and badgering, I had agreed to train her.

At the time, the only Pokemon she had was her Plusle and Minun. She didn't do much training, so they were both only at Level 15. Contemplating what I should do, given the situation, I tried to think of two Pokemon weak enough to be on par with her two Pokemon, since my team were now in a league of their own. Then I remembered two Pokemon I hadn't trained yet: My Teddiursa and my Growlithe. I took them out of the PC and prepared her for her first lesson in training.

My Teddiursa and Growlithe were both at Level 18, so they were at least on par with her Pokemon. An important part of battling is strategy; remember type advantages and disadvantages, so as you will have the upper hand in battle. I had let her make the first move, and she decided to have them both use Thundershock. Thundershock is the weakest of Electric type moves, and it's only real advantage is that there's a chance it will Paralyse the Pokemon that took damage.

Once it was my turn, I ordered Teddiursa to use Mud Slap on Minun and Growlithe to use Ember on Plusle. Mud Slap is a Ground type move, which Electric types are weak to. The move also lowers the opponent's accuracy, which was another plus. Growlithe's Ember had burned Jovi's Plusle, which was another advantage I had.

"Hey!" She whined. "No fair!" She was the kind of person who hates to lose. I just shook my head. She then used Thundershock again, both on my Teddiursa. Lucky for her, one of them had Paralysed Teddiursa. I used the same move on the same Pokemon.

Once Teddiursa used Mud Slap, her Minun was down for the count. Plusle's burn had caused Plusle to faint as well. Then it began. "No fair! The moves you used were too strong!" She whined. When she loses, whining about it is like her calling card.

After she was finished, we went back inside. But it was only minutes until it all began.
