3.The Hard Truth

And from that day John would take the two kids every year to the studio for their  picture as a family. Then one night while They were sitting in front of the television, Lana and Terence stood up and went to their room

Lana said: I want you to ask father when our mom will come

Terence said: why me? Why not you?

Lana said: please please

Terence said: ok

They went outside and sat again on the sofa in front of the television

Terence said: dad I want to ask you something but don't be sad ok

John said: what is it, son?

Terence looked to Lana and then said: dad when will our mom come?

John hugged the children and said: look kids I want you to listen to me carefully.. Your mom is in a better place now.. So we are there for each other now.. And we should support each other forever.. Ok

Terence and Lana grew up quickly till they went to school and had many friends and when anybody hurts her Terence was always there by her side

It was Terence and Lana's 10th birthday they invited all their friends and they cut the birthday cake and all of them were playing outside in the playground then at 10 o'clock all of their friends went to their houses and then Terence and Lana were out in the playground alone swinging on the swing and sliding on the slide while they were playing together

Lana asked Terence: do you think mom will come today?

Terence said: she didn't come in any of our other birthdays I don't think she will come today don't think about it now!

Terence felt thirsty so he went inside the house and drank water. while lana was playing

A voice said: Lana come to mommy

Lana stood up and started searching from where the voice was coming then she saw Emily .Emily took Lana and then after some time

Lana said: where are you taking me, mom

Emily said: to live with me. You had always wanted to live with me and now it is the time

Lana left her hand and then Lana said: what about them? will I leave them? I will not see my brother and father again

Emily said: you don't have a brother and your father died I am the only left family to you

Lana said: no you are lying they are my family

Emily said: no I am not lying I am saying the truth

Lana started crying and said: I want my brother .... Terence ....... Terence

Terence went outside to the playground and he couldn't find Lana

Terence said: Lana.... Lana .....

Emily said to Lana: come on Lana lets go hold my hand and let's go

Lana said: why did you leave me then why didn't you live with us

Emily said: let's not talk about it now let's just go to our house now

Lana said: I can't live without them.

Emily said: we will visit them don't worry ok

Lana said: ok but I will just say goodbye to them

Emily said: its late darling let's go

Emily and Lana arrived at their home and there was a guy sitting on the couch in their house

Lana said: who is this man mom

Emily said: he is your future stepfather

Lana said: what is the meaning of stepfather? Is it means he is my father?

Emily said: yes something like that

Lana said: but he is not my father .I will just wait till tomorrow and I will go to them again

Emily said: don't be in a hurry baby

Lana started crying again and said: I want Terence and my father

Then the guy stood up and said to Lana loudly: what are you doing stop crying and go to the room and you will not go to this Terence or your father. I am your only father

Lana runs to the room and started crying .Terence was crying in the playground then John heard him crying so he went to the playground and asked Terence: why are crying

Terence said: I can't find... I can't find .....La.....Na

John said: ok don't cry I will know where she is .don't cry ok go to sleep and when I really know something I will really tell you I promise.

Terence was crying all the way to his room. Then John called Emily: where is she?

Emily said: whom are you talking about?

John said: you know who? Where is Lana?

Emily said: she is my child. And I can take her anywhere.

John said; she is my daughter too bring her back I will come take her tomorrow

Lana heard her mom talking so she went out of her room and came running to her mom Lana said: dad come and take me

Then the guy came from behind the girl and he was holding his belt in his hand and started beating the girl and saying: I told you not to say this man as your father how many times I should tell you

John was shocked when he heard the man voice and the girl screaming
