N-N-Natsume? She was already blushing as red as a tomato, “hmmm what its it polka?” Was his reply ummm I-I L-l-o-o-ve she was trying to say “I love you” but somehow she got tensed up and started to talk shakily “huh? Seriously polka just spit it out” he said almost angry, Mikan took a deep breath and said “I Love----“ she stopped she couldn’t say it she was scared what if he rejects her they’ve been childhood friends and she doesn’t want him to think that she’s just one of those normal girls who drool all over him, but still, Natsume on the other was facing sideways to hide his blush “geez, she looks so cute flustered and stuff but wait a sec did she say Love?”Mikan suddenly screamed out “STRAWBERRIES!” clearing Natsume’s thoughts, Natsume jumped a little in surprised and faced her saying “what the hell polka you don’t need to shout!” Mikan looked down and said “sorry Natsume it’s just that---“ she had tears forming in her eyes already “oh no don’t cry please don’t ” Natsume thought he quickly ran over to her and comforted her and said “sorry its my fault I shouldn’t have had shouted at you like that” Mikan slowly looked up and hugged Natsume, as she was hugging him he whispered “ so what were you gonna tell me, I know your hiding something Mikan you told me already about a billion times that you love strawberries, I’m your best friend you can tell me anything okay” it stung Natsume’s a bit in the heart coz what if she loved someone that’s not him, he loved her from the first time they met but he wasn’t those weird guys who would just plainly tell his feelings it just wasn’t his style so he decided to keep it all inside him and besides what if she loves someone else he doesn’t want her to feel awkward around him all he wants her is to be happy but he couldn’t keep his feelings for her as well Natsume was in deep thought of confessing or not “Natsume? Are you okay?” asked Mikan with a concerned look but Natsume didn’t reply “oy Natsume stop spaci----“ she was cut off with Natsume kissing her
Mikan’s P.O.V.
“OMG! Natsume i-is kissing me w-what should I do, I know I’ll just close my eyes and respond and hope that this is a dream,please please just let this be a dream” I closed my eyes and quickly responded to him “Oh man he such a good kisser!”
Natsume’s P.O.V.
Wow! S-she really responded to it, she tastes like cherries, wait a sec. did I really just kiss her I’d better stop this I don’t want her to feel awkward about this I quickly pushed her away only to see her blushing madly in embarrassment, I let my head down and asked hey “Mikan umm do you think its better for the three of us to be friends?” I slowly looked up just to see her crying oh no!
Mikan’s P.O.V.
So Natsume just wants us to friends huh ugh I’m so stupid for falling in love with him he thinks of me as a friend and nothing else why did I love him anyway I was the only one who got hurt, I was already crying “so I guess that’s your answer to what I was gonna say Natsume I looked at him and tried to smile but my tears still kept on flowing oh yeah that’s right I remember 3 years ago when I wasn’t in love with him
FLASHBACK
“Natsume! Where is it! Give it back to me!” Screamed an 11 year old skirtless Mikan “huh so you like polka dots huh?” Said Natsume with a smirk, He threw her skirt towards her and Mikan angrily wore it “you pervert what am I to you am I not a person called your best friend?’ ”Hmmmm you’re more like a best toy to me polka dots” “Don’t call me that you pervert!”
END OF FLASHBACK
(still)Mikan’s P.O.V.
So I guess that’s why he kissed me more tears kept flowing "Natsume I need to go" I was about to leave and go to my room to just cry myself to sleep but he suddenly grabbed my arm
Natsume’s P.O.V.
Natsume let go she screamed ”no” I replied “I wont until you tell me why your crying Mikan” “I’m Mikan your friend and TOY remember?” She said, still not facing me I got pissed off “Mikan stop it just tell me Damn straight what you were going to tell me!” I shouted She faced me suddenly and said “Okay fine you want the truth I Like You no wait change that I Love You but since you said that you just wanted us to be friends so be it now leave me alone” she said crying I was so surprised she actually loved me? I went closer to her while she was sniffling and I whispered to her “I Love You too Mikan its just that I thought you loved someone else and---“ I quickly got cut off when she kissed my cheek and said “you mean it?” Yes Mikan I love you I loved you ever since we met okay?” Her face lit up I wiped her tears and kissed her passionately we kissed for ten minutes then we gasped for air suddenly my phone rang I answered ”Hello?” “Natsume where are you?” “oh its you dad what is it ? I’m at Mikan’s why?” “You need to get ready for tomorrow” “what why?” “Coz we’re going to America to fix our business apparently it got bankrupt so we have to” knowing my dad he wont take any No’s or objections I said “okay then” I put down the phone and faced Mikan “who was that?” she asked “my dad he said that I’m leaving Japan to go to America to fix out our business coz it got bankrupt” What when are you leaving?” she asked me sadly I looked down and said “tomorrow “she hugged me tightly and said “when will you come back?” I don’t know Mikan but I’ll come back as early as possible okay? I promise but I need to go now to pack my stuff we can meet at the airport tomorrow” I replied “okay” she sadly said and let go of me I kissed her cheek and said I love you
“I love you too Natsume, bye see you tomorrow” she said as I left for the door
Mikan’s P.O.V.
Natsume is leaving but I will still wait for him he said he’ll come back for me right? So I better get pumped and ready for tomorrow’s tear fest I said to myself as I went to my room and swiftly went to bed.
