Sitting at the back seat like he preferred, Faun stared out the window as some cheesy song played from the radio. Normally, it was Leon who took them to school because Stuart wasn't yet comfortable with people finding out he had kids or about his private life. But for a couple days now, Stuart had been the one taking him to school. Since Mariam's school was different, Leon did her school runs.

"That reminds me," Stuart stopped humming to the music and said, "How was first day of school? Sorry I didn't ask earlier, teachers held me back."

Faun shrugged and said, "Boring mostly. Slept through all the classes."

"So you're a sleeper huh? Try not doing that in Mrs. Potoski's class. She'll make you stand for the rest of it."

"Should have warned me yesterday." Faun rolled his eyes but a smile fell past his lips when he met Stuart's gaze from the front mirror.

They had been living as a family for a month now and Faun and Mariam had started school just a week ago. Faun could say the school wasn't so bad. There weren't much strict rules and they weren't so bothered by anything LGBT. In fact, he had already made his first gay friend. And after school, that 'gay friend' was going to show him to his other 'gay friends'. Honestly, Faun couldn't wait.

Stuart pulled up in a parking spot and Faun jumped out before the man could kill the ignition. Surprisingly, Stuart didn't bother calling him back like Leon normally did, but he made a mental note to tell him he wasn't coming home early.

Picking up his pace, he basically dashed down the hall which was almost empty because Stuart had something he had to do before class. Faun didn't mind because his 'gay friend' was an early comer too.

He retrieved his books from his locker and strolled into his first class. There were only a handful of kids in it and a huge smile grew on his face when he saw his friend's hand in the air waving at him.

"Come over newbie." Ace waved at him.

"Hi." He smiled as he sat beside him.

Ace was a chill guy but Faun knew his new parents were going to lose their minds if he brought him home. Even though he was in his early sixteen of age, he had already gotten three tattoos, a tongue piercing, ear piercing and a brow piercing. His face probably glittered in the dark. Even though he looked tough with all of that, the kid was actually sweet and very friendly.

"Did you do your Math assignment? Let me copy." Without an answer, Ace reached for Faun's bag and searched for the Math homework.

"It's the third book." Faun helped then got his bag back after Ace had gotten it.

"Ah man! Can't believe you did it. I should come over whenever they give us Math homework. Since all my other friends hate Math like the fucking devil, I have no one to do it with." He said, popping his elbow on the table as he got busy copying. "How did you even do it?"

"My dad, Leon, loves Math. However, it has nothing to do with his job whatsoever."

"Huh? Does it bother him?"

Faun shrugged. "Didn't care to ask."

The first bell rang and Faun brought out his Geography note. It wasn't even five minutes before his teacher pranced into the classroom like he owned it. Faun's Geography teacher was supposed to be Mr. Finch but seeing Stuart practically glaring at everyone with his familiar glare sent a weird cold chill down his spine.

"Shit." Ace frowned the second he met with the man's gaze and his frown only deepened as he closed the notes in front of him. "Fuck. Why is he here?"
