"They say love has killed more than any disease. More than war, and knowledge. More than the devil himself." The voice recites sorrowfully.
Ignis looks up from the lakes reflection towards the small cottage. A raven rests peacefully on a nearby branch overlooking the valley. It turns its patronising gaze towards the small gravel road, revealing a figure swiftly approaching. She relaxes, recognising those judgmental dark green eyes instantly. The wind blows her fiery red hair across her cheek and she brushes it away with irritation.
"Ignis darling, you need to focus more on your responsibilities as the Phoenix representative, not those silly old books in the library."Mary replies with an arrogant tone.
Ignis plasters a fake smile upon her face, "Oh but if I were to retreat from those so called 'silly old books,' then I would have to face the likes of you." Mary's face drops. My species, the Phoenix, and the Fairies have held a grudge with one another for centuries and as time has passed, we have forgotten what the motive was.
"I was only trying to be civil with you Ignis. Besides, you are late for the council meeting, I was sent to retrieve you."
"I must have lost track of time" Ignis replies with a worried tone. She rushes ahead of Mary, towards the council chambers. Mary flips her hair over her shoulder and follows in pursuit of Ignis.
Just as Ignis reaches the council doors Mary yells out in irritation, "By the Exagoni, Ignis did you forget your council papers, again?!" Ignis curses fluently in an unladylike manner as she dashes back towards the direction of the cottage that sits by the lake. Mary sighs heavily, walking through the council doors.

"Actus and the No Spacers are increasing in size and approaching quickly, we need to put a stop to this now! Any ideas?" Mateo announces as Mary takes her seat.
"I say we go out and rip them to pieces," Fortitudo the Vampire representative adds demandingly.
"Your first reaction Fort, is to always rip people apart, can't we just form a peace treaty?" suggests Ibi the wise Warlock.
"Or just stab them?" Sarcina the Werewolf adds.
"It doesn't matter how we dispose of them, we need a plan, Wizards are great at making plans. Mary, where is Ignis? I thought I sent you to get her?" Mateo adds.
"Oh you know, she forgot something," Mary says. The room simultaneously rolls into a huge sigh, Ignis was known among the council to forget allot of things. "Anyway, we could just wait for them to attack, and spend our time strengthening our forces." Replies Mary.
"No, we should take everything we have and kill Actus." Sarcina says.
"Sarcina, that is how people lose wars, they use their strongest forces first, lose to many people, and then get defeated." Ibi says.
"Well I think-" Fortitudo starts, but no one ever found out what Fortitudo was about to say, because at that very moment the doors swings open.
"Glad you could join us Ignis," Mateo says sarcastically.
"Oh, I don't think Ignis will be joining you any time soon." the sly voice replies. The council turns to see an army of No Spacers standing in the open doorway. "Attack!" The No Spacers moved swiftly forward and started attacking. While Mateo was busy defending himself from a No Spacer in front of him, another one came up behind and snatched his wand snapping it in two, leaving him defenceless. Fort's fangs had fully emerged, and he was tearing the No Spacers into ribbons. Sarcina was clawing and biting through enemies, while Ibi was standing on her chair casting different types of spells to slow the No Spacers down. Ibi was the first to be slaughtered, she was violently burnt from head to toe by one of the skilled No Spacers, to prevent her from healing and defending the other council members. Chaos broke out in the room, as one after another, people dropped onto the floor in a pool of blood. No Spacers were slayed left and right, and once the wave of No Spacers had decreased magnificently, they started retreating.
"My apologies for being late, I swear on the Exagoni it won't happen-" Ignis suddenly screams in terror. She sees Fortitudo lying headless in a lake of his own blood, Sarcina had been stabbed multiple times in the chest area of her wolf form, and a burnt corpse she guessed was Ibi, because Mary was lying on the ground, blood trickling from where her arms used to be, and Mateo was looking rather pale.
"Mateo, what in Exagoni's name happened!?" Ignis demands fear.
"The No Spacers attacked, they broke my wand, and murdered everyone but Mary and I." Mateo explains with dread.
