There was a virus going around that basically just made people go psycho. The virus couldn't be cured, so if you got it, you would just have to live in the hospital for the rest of their lives. The paramedics were finding that the hospitals were getting too packed and that they couldn't keep going on like this. So they put tracking devices in the psychos' heads and they let them out into the real world. The paramedics didn't see any flaws in their plan as they knew if the psychos did go so crazy that they were a threat to all of the normal people, they could always just track them down and put them back in hospital. But they didn't think that the psychos would go so crazy and infect so many other people, that they couldn't possibly track them down again. And that is exactly what happened.
The psychos were everywhere now. They had also became ghosts, so you would be watching a movie with your family and you would just look out the window to see a person watching with you and then they would vanish. And they would stand in the windows of the houses of the people they had infected and they would throw axes at whoever walked past. If you got hit, instead of dying, you would pick up the axe and join the ghost in the window. If you got hit by an axe then you would be infected too. There was also a rule going around: If both parents happen to be out, the oldest or only child will stand at the front of the house and guard it for the rest of the family.
There was a girl called Hannah. And she just happened to be the oldest child. And her parents just happened to both go out to a meeting one night (great parents, I know). So she dragged her blanket and pillow out to the front yard with her. She watched flickers of ghosts light up for split seconds around the street. She was lying on the grass with her things when she saw a rickety, old, yellow car turn into the bottom of her street. It slowly drove up her street. It past her house and then stopped. It reversed down next to her house and then stopped again. And, as it stopped, Hannah realised that there was no passengers and, worst of all, no one driving it. It was a ghost. She stood up, grabbed her things, and ran down to her neighbour's house. She ran up to the front door and bashed her fists against it.
"HELP! HELP! PLEASE, ANYBODY, HELP ME! LET ME IN! HELP ME!" she screamed.
She looked in their driveway and saw that their car wasn't there. They weren't home.
She heard rustling in the rose bush. She spun around but found nothing in the bush. She turned to the road to see the rickety, old, yellow car reverse back down to her neighbour's house. She heard more rustling in the rose bush. She turned just in time to see a ghost standing in the rose bush, holding a rose, grinning. Then, the ghost flickered and disappeared.

I know this one is kind of crappy. It was actually a nightmare my big sister, hannah_hilly, had. I found it pretty creepy even though it is very unrealistic. I know it was stupid of the hospital to let the psychos out and stupid of them to make the rule that the oldest or only child had to guard the house for the rest of the family if both parents are out but it IS a horror story (or nightmare) and every decision in a horror story is a stupid one (take the last story for example). I hope you still liked this story!
