The Awakening

"Today in Sacramento, the cops found 17 dead bodies by an old building that has been vacant for over 10 years. The police tried to see what was in the building but whoever attempted to go in died. There is also 2 more buildings that have these circumstances. One is in Mountain View and the other is in Milpitas. That's all we know since all the electronics stopped working earlier", said Justin.

"But we live in San Jose. What if something happens to us? What about my parents?"

"It will be ok. I bet your parents are just fine"

"JUSTIN! RYAN! COME HERE! HURRY!" said Justin's mom.

The tv came on and there is a news report: "To all citizens of the bay area. According to police reports, the mysterious buildings around the bay area are growing. There is now 6 buildings that have been reported with the same situation as the others. The buildings are located in San Jose, Santa Cruz, and Stockton. The number of deceased people has increased to 378. We suggest you evacuate your homes and go to a place that is far and safe."

"What are we going to do?!?!"

"We are in danger mom, we need to leave" says Justin.

"Everyone just stay calm" says Justin's mom. "Justin grab the emergency box and pack everything you will need."

I tried to call my parents again but they still wouldn't answer.

"Where are we gonna go?"

"I'm not sure", says Justin's mom."We just need to get out of here as fast as we can".

I hear a bunch of sounds coming from outside. I look out the window and there are about 10,000,000 cars trying to leave. There is so much traffic. Everyone is driving like reckless animals. 

"We are never gonna be able to get out of here", says Justin.

"We have to", says Justin's mom. "Hurry up boys, lets go!"

We get in the car and take off but, the traffic is so bad. We decided to take the back streets. We are about to reach the city border but then we get stopped by some army forces. A solider comes over to car to talk to us.

"Hello sir, why are we being stopped?"

"I'm sorry to say that all of the cities with the mysterious buildings are being closed from anybody entering or exiting"

"WHAT! WHY?"

"The army is running low on soldiers and support to fight against the buildings so, we are going to have the people of the cities with the buildings help us. Please gather your personal belongings and exit the vehicle."
