"Sanskar, where are we going?" Swara asked touching her fingers against his hand that was covering her eyes.
"Shh! Just trust me. It isn't too far" he whispered in her ears, making her shiver
They walked a bit more before Sanskar came to a stand still, stopping Swara as well. He took his hand off her eyes. Swara opened her eyes gently to find that there was a blanket laid down on the beach with glasses filled with votive candles lining the corners of the blankets. Rose petals spread across the blankets could be seen in the light from the candles.
"Sanskar" she said softly turning to him
Sanskar just smiled at her, holding her hand, walking her over to the blanket, his eyes on her all the time. He got her to sit on the blanket facing him. The sea visible by their side, if they just turned their heads to the side.
"Do you remember this place?" Sanskar asked softly
Swara nodded "This was where we kissed" she said shyly "That was my first kiss" she confessed
Sanskar's heart filled with even more love for her. She wasn't the first girl he had kissed, but he knew that she would be the last one. He drew both her hands in his, gently caressing the back of her hand.
"You are amazing; do you know that?" he commented only to receive a bright but shy smile from her in response "You were all that I thought of when I was in London. You were the only one on my mind. The only one in my dreams. I was missing seeing you smile. I was even missing having your hit me over my pranks" He said looking deeply into her eyes
"I was missing you too, though I never really understood what I was feeling for a long long time. I even missed your off key singing" she said, making him chuckle "I know! I was in a love sick zone. I was listening to Annie's song in loop" she said giggling herself.
"I rubbed off on you, huh?" he asked with a mischievous smile "Anything else you want to confess to me? Do you have any other secrets?"
"I might" Swara said lifting her chin in defiance "But I am not going to reveal it easily"
"I have my work cut out for me then" Sanskar said with glint in his eyes "I am going to enjoy unravelling all your secrets" making Swara blush again.
"So what are we doing here? Not that I don't like this" Swara asked curious about what he had planned
"You are being impatient" Sanskar commented
"I have never been patient"
Sanskar chuckled before his eyes softened. He looked at her, his fingers drawing gentle circles on the back of her hand "I think something is missing" he said looking at her
"What?" she asked looking down at herself. She was dressed in a simple but nice salwar kurti. Mangalsutra now gracing her neck and sindoor showing through the partition on her forehead.
Sanskar shoved his hand in his pocket, bringing it out a second later. He extended the fist towards her, before opening it up, to reveal a simple but beautiful diamond ring. "This" he said gently before sliding it along her ring finger
Swara gasped "When did you get this?" she asked
"I sneaked out to get it while all of you were getting ready for the reception. After the morning fiasco, I wanted us to be alone before I gave it to you" he told her "Do you like it?" he asked looking at her
"It is perfect" She gushed looking at her hand for a minute before her eyes softened "You are perfect"
"You are really boosting my ego" he told her with a smile and a shake of his head. Then he got a bit serious "Swara, I should have spoken about this sooner, but we never had a chance. There is a bit of a problem" he told her
