🌙Astra🌙
"Come on Aysel, it can't be this difficult," I coaxed him. We were laying in my room on my bed, Aysel sitting in a nearby chair, Luna and I on the bed.
"Oh but it is, Astra. Amaris won't even talk to me!" Aysel disagreed.
"Aysel, you can't go up to her and say 'hey, did you know that your purple eyes are the same as mine?' Honestly, how dumb can you get?" Luna agreed with me.
I raised my eyebrows and pointed to her, agreeing with the statement.
"Alright! It was kinda dumb, but what choice did I have? We're soul mates, and she's pretty freaking gorgeous."
I rolled my eyes and smiled. Our Ceremony of Sixteen's was a couple weeks ago. Aysel has found his soulmate, as you know, and is waiting to talk to her. Luna is already dating her soulmate; they should be getting married a few days after our Seventeenth birthday. I haven't found mine yet.
I played with my necklace, making it dance in between my fingers. I heard a door open and slam shut, then my twin brother Astro walked in.
"Does anyone have any idea how to get your soulmate to notice you?" He asked, a little angrier than any normal day.
"Don't ask Aysel. He's got too much to worry about." Luna snickered. Aysel smacked her arm.
"Yeah, he's kinda at this borderline relationship with a girl named Amaris. But, here's a tip. Don't point out that you both have purple eyes; it doesn't work," I commented, sitting up from my laying-down position.
"On the contrary, we did make eye contact for a few split seconds before she laughed in my face and walked away."
We laughed, because we knew it was true. Aysel wasn't an 'attractive' guy, as they call it. He was the nerdier type who didn't joke around and was pretty much always serious. There were points when he'd be sarcastic, but for most of the time, he was serious.
"I'll make sure I won't. Leiah won't even look at me, so." Astro shrugged.
I patted his back. "It's okay, O. She kinda has to notice you, considering you're soulmates."
He chuckled softly. "Yeah, I guess so."
After a while everyone went back to their houses. I laid down on my bed, and without even noticing it, I fell asleep.

I awoke with a start, and leapt out of bed. The first thing I noticed was that I was way in the sky. I screamed and crawled under the blankets to hide.
Astra, a voice said.
My heart started beating.
Astra. Speak to me.
"Wh-who are you?"
I'm the Moon. Your creator.
"What?"
You'll understand. But for now, sleep. You need rest.
"No! Wait! I have so many questions!" I squirmed around in my bed, and tried getting up.
I awoke up with a start and hit the floor. It was already dark out. Had I really slept this long?
I groaned and tried to make sense of all that had happened. Had the Moon really talked to me?
I laid down again, and stared up at the ceiling, wondering. Then I got this strange feeling that I wasn't me.
So I started with the basics.
You are Astra. You are a Sixteen and you live in Moon. Your favorite food is Starfruit and you're scared of heights.
I sighed, now remembering that I was me again. My mind continued to buzz with thoughts as I tried to fall back asleep, but I couldn't get Her voice out of my head! Had She really talked to me?
I wished there were answers. I wished I could comprehend all that was going on. I wished I knew, but I didn't. I didn't even know how I got here to the Elements.
Life was a mystery. But that mystery was never to be solved.
Once my brain calmed down more, I drifted off to sleep again, oblivious to the world around me.
