    I don't understand why Erwin let go off Marie. I mean, he could have stayed with her for atleast the time he was alive (as he thinks). 
    
                          
    Think of it, what does he get in the end? No love and keeps losing his comrades. He doesn't gain anything. 
    
                          
    And he is such a nice person. Typical, husband material. How could someone leave him? Marie would have been very lucky if Erwin would have decided to be with her.
