One Night

Chapter 3

We had our summer break for like about two months. Certainly the best part about the summer break was that I could spend time with him aloof; not in school, but at each other's house.

We often went for picnics. A few days ago, we went to the country side and mum had packed some sandwiches for us. An awkward silence set in between us while I was plucking the grass sitting lazily. We never had times when we were in short of topics. I looked at the ground and started making gestures with my hand. In a spur, I saw that Aaron kept his hand over mine and made a shadow of a rabbit. His skin was soft and pale and the moment he touched me, a sensation ran down through me.

What both of us shared was not only a friendship that was beautiful but also a friendship in which we knew that even the awkward silence had some beauty hidden in it. Something like flirtationship. Moreover, like what people say; that silence was not disturbing at all.

Then, Aaron exclaimed with fear that it was too late as we stayed up late than dusk. He did a bicycle shot and threw this bag pack in the car.

Aaron screaming on top of his voice" My little girl, you idiot, hurry up."

I was walking as if I didn't care. Who doesn't mess around with their best friend?

He grumped but then he came to me and said" You naughty piece of shit and I swear you are the shittiest person I have ever met."

I stuck out my tongue, so he lifted me in his arms as if I was a small baby. Even though, I was screaming all the way along to put me down, he shut me down and kept walking.

He literally dumped me in the backseat of the car and put a seatbelt around me and said" Kiara, you are more notorious than a small kid and you better keep yourself seated."

I was so pissed off at him and just said" What sin did I do to get such a best friend?" Yes, I knew I was pretending to be angry and furious at him but at the back of my mind, I knew that I loved him and these small things of his, makes me melt for him. But, I never wanted to lose my best friend for the sake of my love.

Going ahead, I made a grumpy face like always.

I was bored. My partner was busy driving the car. So I just said" Aaron I don't care whether you allow me to take your phone or not, I am taking it." Before he could deny, it was already in my hands.

In my high school, I have a friend Ariana, who is again one of my really close friends. Yes! she knows that I have a big crush on Aaron. Aaron and Ariana were classmates in the biology class. Moreover, it sucked not to be in any of the classes where Aaron was.

As soon as I unlocked his phone, I was shocked to see the wallpaper of Aaron and I when had spent a day at his house and clicked such stupid and creepy pictures. As soon as I opened his messenger, I saw that he had written chat message to Ariana which said" She was looking so gorgeous in the prom night, I couldn't resist myself from going to her. She is truly an epitome of beauty. I love her. But I was scared to ask her out."

I literally got goose bumps and my self conscience innocence said it was surely me because Delilah wasn't there at the prom night. I was on cloud nine as finally my one time wish was fulfilled. I was perfectly imagining my future with him which was going to be just so full of beautiful memories. My happiness was out of bounds and I came to realize that yes, miracles do happen. This was truly the moment I was waiting for. Now, that I thought of embracing my future with him, I had all the plans ready for us  in just a matter of few seconds. I just cannot help loving my best friend. He is too adorable.

Aaron turned behind and asked" Is everything alright?"

I exclaimed in joy" Duh, stupid."

And soon, we reached my house and before I went down, he kissed my forehead and thanked me for the well spent day. And he started mumbling something...
