Chapter three: arrival

Just assume it's Lachlan's POV unless I say it isn't.

The car ride was quiet. No one spoke, no one made eye contact, no one moved. Surprisingly there's no limper's to be seen. Everyone was driving behind us,probably driving in silence like us. I mean twelve people died we should be in silence. They died because of stupidity, Ant went outside by himself,unarmed, and he probably got distracted. Those ten people who I never met died because they ran upstairs, unarmed, and I doubt they would be able to make it out alive. Finally Jordan died because he wasn't focused, he was upset, he wasn't paying attention. So to my conclusion being a absolute idiot will get you killed. Finally we pulled up to the private school. It was fenced off, it had a huge hill, and the school was just big overall. Mitch stopped the car and got out. Everyone else got out to, including myself and walked over beside Mitch." We leave the cars here, we can't get through..... at least not with the cars" Mitch states and turns to look at the whole group." Can't we just use some pliers and cut through the fence" Rob asks." No, flesh eaters will be able to get through" Preston says coldly staring at the ground." Then how do we get in" a male red head asks stepping forward." Good question Max, we climb over the fences" Mitch says proudly. People gasp like someone just spat in their coffee." Don't worry Lachlan, Max and I will climb first and if one of you fall we'll catch you" Mitch declares and Starts to climb the fence. I make eye contact with Max and he looks angry." I  didn't fucking volunteer" he shouts and Mitch cockily responds " well, just start climbing and stop whining you little baby". Max sprints at the fence and climbs it as fast as he could. As soon as Max's feet hit the floor I start climbing. Did I mention how hard it is to climb a ten foot tall fence with a gun on your back. I slowly climb down the other side of the fence. I'm two feet off the ground and my foot slips. I fall on the hard ground." Why didn't you catch me" I shout as I stand up." You were two feet off the ground" Max responds bluntly. Soon the others start to climb the fence. Only two people fell but we luckily caught them. Jin and Jess brought over the food from the trunk of their car that they had incase they had to leave the cabin quickly and never to come back." Okay Jin, Max, Preston, Lachlan, Jess, Shelby and I will go and get rid as much flesh eaters as we can and find some classrooms we can stay in, also Vik your in charge of the rest of the group until we comeback" Mitch says and walks off towards the school. We run after him guns and knifes in our hand. We take down about fifty limper's in the courtyard. It was easy as one,two,three. We reach the front doors and Max says " best plan is that we clear the bottom floor then find materials to block off any ways eaters can get in". I nod and say " Preston and I will check the cafeteria to kill limper's and look for food, Mitch and Jin will find the classrooms close to the doors and look for anything useful, Jess, Shelby and Max will look for stuff to block off any exits limper's can get to". Everyone nods and Jess opens the door. Five limper's Rush is and Jess kill them all with her pistol. Everyone goes off with their partners to do their job." Come on" I say to Preston and follow the sign that shows where the cafeteria is. We walk in silence occasionally killing a limper. Then we reach the cafeteria and Preston kicks the door open. We are walk in and about thirty walkers rush us. I run over to a table and stand on it shooting ." Watch out" Preston shouts and a limper climbed up from behind me. It was ready to attack but I smashed the it's head in with my gun handle.Limper's try to get Preston but he shoots them all within seconds. We kill the rest of the limper's and Preston smiles at me. Preston walks into the kitchen and I follow close behind him. We walk into the kitchen and there's ten shelves full of canned food and twenty sacks of potatoes!"Come on let's go find the others and tell them we found some food" he says and walks out of the cafeteria. I follow after him but I take one last glance making sure there's no walkers left. I walk out and see Preston chatting with Max and Jess." Oh Lachlan, everyone is inside already and we blocked the stairwells off" Max says and gives me a awkward smile." Thanks, is the hallway where we're staying in" I ask and Jess says " yeah,you and Preston will be sharing the first classroom on the right". I say a quiet thank you and walk into the classroom/ room. There was two blankets on the floor and desks were flipped. What a great home! This was one hell of a arrival.
