My eyes slowly flickered open as I take in my surroundings.
Same car.
Same road.
Same me.
But,
different driver.
Relief fills my body as I notice a boy named, Niall, behind the wheel.
"Niall..." My voice sounded more distraught than I wanted it to.
"Oh, thank god you're awake. Are yuh feeling okay, Jen?" Concern filled his angel-like voice.
"Jen?" I giggle to myself, not really sure why.
"Oh, sorry. Jennifer." His cheeks fuming.
"No, it's okay. Everyone calls me Jen anyways."
"Well, Jen, are you okay?"
"Yes, I am. Well, I have a little headache but no biggie."
"Headache? That makes sense, I guess. You hit that rock pretty hard."
"What rock?"
What the hell is he talking about?
"You don't remember?" His eyes meeting mine as he furrows his eyebrows.
"That last thing I remember is...being thrown out of the car by my hair and that's it." I laugh even though my tone is serious.
"First off, sorry bout that. Second, when he pulled you out, your head landed on a big rock. You were bleeding everywhere." His body shivers in memory.
"Oh."
"It's alright. I cleaned you up. We got a first aid kit." He points to the glove compartment.
"Why?" My curiosity taking the best of me.
"Always the questions with you." He giggles and continues to drive.
I want to ask him again, but I'd rather not start anything with one of the only boys who I really trust, instead of Liam, of course.
"Where are we going?" I decide to make conversation.
"Another question, Jesus." He begins to laugh harder this time, allowing me to join.
"Sorry." I smile.
"You do know that you're not even aloud to know where we're going, right? You should be in the trunk or back with a bandana over your eyes and tape over your mouth. You should be crying and screaming. Shit, you shouldn't even know our names." His voice is playful yet stern at the same time.
"Well, then why do I?" All his words are making no sense in my brain.
What is he trying to hint out to me?
"That's classified." His face emotionless.
Like all the joy and happiness he had five seconds ago, ran away.
"Why am I so different?" I can't stand to not know things. It drives me completely mad.
"Okay, maybe this is why Harry didn't want to drive with you anymore." He rolls his eyes and continues to ignore my questions.
"Excuse me?" I can't help but slightly be offended.
"You never shut up for christ sake!" He hits the steering wheel as he snaps.
"Well, I'm sorry! Maybe if I annoy you guys so much, you shouldn't have kidnapped me! Take me home, than!" I forcefully stomp my foot on the ground.
"You don't get it! We could be so fucking cruel to you! We're actually being quite fucking nice considering we 'kidnapped' you. Do you not understand how much danger you're in? Do you not get that if we wanted to, we could kill you!" His ocean eyes turning into a dark wave of storms.
"Do it." My voice cracks.
"What?" His tone so far from where it was seconds ago.
"Kill me." I can't help a tear that travels out of my broken eyes.
"No, Jen."
"Exactly, what I thought." I roll my eyes in disgust.
"What are you talking about this time?" He slowly clenches the steering wheel tighter, his knuckles bleach white.
"You guys can't kill me."
"Wh-"
"Wherever you're taking me, I need to get there. You can't kill me. You maybe can hurt me, but I know for a fact, you can't kill me."
He stays quiet as he deliberately speeds down the freeway.
I finally grow a pair and speak,
"I'm right. Aren't I?"
He looks over at me and bites his bottom lip,
"You're right as to where we can't kill you, but you don't know what'll we do to you until we get to where we need to be. You're right as to we can't kill you now, but later? That's a different story, Jennifer." His eyes locked on the road.
I take a gulp and begin to shake in my now freezing chair.
"How long do I have?" I ask before I can stop myself.
"Who knows." And with that, he turns into a tall, silver building.
