It was a bright spring morning. Birds chirping, light breeze. Damon and I were back to work, testing out spells to bring Elena back, although Damon was slowly getting less reluctant to find a spell that worked. Not that he didn't want her back, though.
"Let's take a little break. I'm exhausted already," I said with the best tired facial expression I could put on. It was getting tiring to find a spell that'd actually work, and both Damon and I were loosing hope.
"Bon Bon, you and I both know there isn't a spell that'll bring her back. So let's just stop."
How was it so easy for him to give up?
"I guess. But...," I trailed off. I honestly didn't know what was going on. Damon was acting more different day by day. And I felt...attraction towards him day by day.
Ugh Bonnie what the hell is wrong with you?
All of a sudden, my apartment door slammed open, and a man, a vampire, grabbed me and took me away to a dark, gloomy home. It was in a deserted neighborhood and the house was out of shape.
I opened my eyes to find myself in a mysterious room, tied to a chair. I tried to perform a spell to let me out but my magic was blocked. Where was I?
I prayed for Damon to come rescue me, as I was frantically calling for help as well. I thought I was alone until the same man who kidnapped me came into the room. He had blonde hair and a light beard. He was wearing all black apparel and looked middle aged.
"Bonnie Bennett. Pleasure to meet you, don't worry I haven't touched Damon, yet," he said with a sinister smile on his face.
"You bastard! What do you want?!" I said. He wasn't going to get away with this.
"Oh honey, relax. I just need a small favor from you!" he exclaimed.
Honey?
"And what might that be?"
"See, I need you to bring me back."
"What the hell do you mean bring you back?"
"I'm a spirit. You can see me because you're a witch. That's why Damon didn't flinch when you were taken, because all he saw was you. He's probably so confused now, it's really funny," he said with a chuckle.
I wanted to rip his head off. I couldn't believe this was actually happening. I was talking to a spirit.
"Okay nice story. So why me?" I said. There were so many witches and he chooses me.
"Because you're a Bennett witch. Only they can do the spell, which I have from the oldest Bennett spell book. It was hidden 1,000 years back, because people believed it was wrong it bring spirits from the dead back so easily."
"Okay and what makes you think I'm gonna do it? First of all, why do you even want to come back? And how did you block my magic?"
"You're going to do it or I will be everywhere you'll be. I was killed, by another vampire and what's wrong with getting a little sweet revenge? I didn't block your magic. This place did. It was an old house used to punish young witches who would use their magic for bad things."
"You're a dumbass if you think I'm gonna do the spell. You could be harmful, and I can't just let you run around like that," I said with confidence. I tried to hide the fact that I was about to break down.
"Look, if you don't do it I will make your life miserable," he said, and I believed it. I couldn't have someone haunting me for the rest of my life. I needed to do the spell.
Just then, Damon dashed into the room. He ran to me and attempted to untie me, but the ropes had revain on them.
Smart.
"Damon how'd you find me?" I said with extreme curiosity.
"I found Mary-Louise and threatened her to do a locator spell," he said. "How did you get here? Whatever let's talk when we get to your place."
Suddenly, I felt a tight grip on my neck, and realized I was being choked by the...spirit. It was weird admitting it.
As I gasped for air, Damon glared at me with astonishment. He quickly untied the ropes and ran back the apartment. I let out a breath of air, relieved.
Damon's hands were burned, but quickly healed in 1 minute or 2. He put his hand on my face and I instantly felt better.
"Bonnie, what was that?" he said.
I splurted everything out, and Damon listened attentively. I looked around, expecting the spirit to be with me, but instead saw nothing.
After telling Damon everything, I broke down to tears. He brought me close and ran his hands through my hair.
"Damon, thank you. For saving me. Not that you didn't owe me it," I said with a chuckle.
"Well, I couldn't risk loosing you."
I looked into his bright green eyes, and admired how striking they were. As I snapped back to reality, I felt his lips brush against mine. He leaned in and kissed me, and I kissed back.
Realizing what was happening, I pulled away from Damon. "We can't do this. Elena-"
"She told me to move on Bonnie," he said. It was true.
"But not with her best friend!" I exclaimed.
"Well I guess we're gonna have to break the rules! You can't stop me from falling in love with you," he blurted out.
Falling in love!? I glared at Damon with shock. It was true I was getting more attracted to him as well. But this wasn't right.
"Damon, I-I didn't know you...." I was at a loss of words.
He pulled my face close to his and whispered, "You didn't know I felt that way. But Bonnie through the months I fell for you, for the person you are. And I promise I will never leave your side if you don't leave mine."
"I won't," I whispered back. I instantly forgot about all the "buts" and "what-ifs" and was intrigued by Damon's touch.
