The dead continued their shrieking. Possibly something had toppled onto them as well. Maybe they felt pain for once.....her mind wandered in strange directions with all this adrenaline infusing with her blood stream.
The blonde struggled, pushing on the piano with a shaky, delicate hand and attempting to pull her waist free of the stationary instrument parked on her lower hemisphere. Tears of rage filled her green eyes, her pale skin tarnishing a black from the pianos chipped paint; it began scrapping off beneath her nails. The world seemed to have aged years within those seconds as her bone structure curled and crunched and cracked onto itself, curving into her black fur and paws. Only issue was that the piano trapped the last few vertebra on her tail but at least the instrument released her pale, slender frame.
The lightbulb went off in her adrenaline rushed, throbbing forehead. With a yowl that shifted into a human scream, she slammed her ankles onto the jagged, broken edges of the instrument. Free at last! She pushed herself up and struggled onto her broken body. The impact alone had broken more bones than shifting ever has, or ever would it seems.
She fell foreward, her curtain of thick blonde and purple claiming her vision as her head hit the bed frame and then the shade of black claimed her vision.
And then light flooded her corneas once more. Her groan became audible as she felt a hand take hers. She was in a hospital gown.Pearce
Pearce sniffed the fiery air of hell "oddly i miss this place" he said as the man he was dragging woke up. Sweet morning for hell its a nicer welcome than i got. As he said this he heard a roar in the distance followed by clapping. "Stay" he said to the merc he nicknamed sam in his head. He flew to the arena he knew far to well as he heard the screams of a deamon echo throughout the chasm. Damn ive missed the first fight as he sat in his seat. As the fights went on he noticed a new door. Hmm i wonder whats in there just as he thought this a cloud rose over the stadium and a voice he dreaded filled the sky. "PEARCE" "yes your ugliness" he responded. "If you come to watch why not join" why not he thought what could go wrong.David
For a normal human, lactic acid would have kicked in at the first mile. Above average the third and for someone who completely eliminated the acid from their legs, or even someone who couldn't feel pain, they'd clock out of power at about the fourth or fifth mile. But for a human who escaped from hell, can't die and regenerates fast enough to keep running full speed (for the sake of argument of course) he could've chased him until the guy ran out of gas. But fore the sake of making it look like he lost him, he pulled back and took back streets and ally ways to follow him keeping his distance using a long range scope he carries in his bag to keep an eye on him.
David chased him for about ten miles and followed him for another two until the guy drove through a makeshift gate made out of wood, steel posts and tires. It was hard to make out what kind of buildings were on the other side of the eight foot tall wall. All he could make out was a steel panel structure for a buildings wall before the gate closed. On the wall to both sides of the gate he counted four gate guards to each side. All of them wore combat gear and each carried his or her own weapon.
A few dead heads had spotted me while I was laying flat on my stomach and made its way over too me. As they got closer he rolled out from under and while keeping as low as he could behind a small hill to conceal him from the gate guards. Once he got far enough away he climbed found a nice building to set up camp in for the night three quarters of a mile out from the unknown camp. Using cover he stayed hidden from there line of sight.
He took count of everything he had and climbed to the roof where he sat and watched over the camp taking notes of guard changes, all the guards he could see in his line of view of the wall, weaponry, experience of each person, each individual person, and everything going in and out of the gates.
"Feels like old times," he told himself as he took took notes and lit a black in his mouth taking in the smoke, "Just like old times."
He exhaled a cloud of smoke and continued his recon even aft night had fallen across the sky like a blanket.
'Pearce had better be at the camp,' he thought to himself. Knowing Pearce he knew that he would've taken that kid to the gates of hell just to scare the hell out of him. No pun intended. Every time he did make a trip there what he didn't know is he was only making everything worse. It was them two who broke a whole between the two worlds unleashing souls of the damned, but only those of the outer rings. And every time Pearce made a trip back he broke more holes in the wall between the two worlds.
