Ashton's POV

Most of the best memories I've had are with my father he brings light into my life still. Even though he's not right next to me but he's always in my mind and my heart.

My mom and dad divorced when I was a baby so I never actually got to see my two biological parents together, I had to spend different times with them. I switched back and fourth, every week.

I still remember the day, vividly like I was in my ten-year old body again sitting next to him in his big black truck that I always loved, and he always had to help me into. Before tragety struck I giggled as I watched the empty asphalt road ahead and watched the two yellow lines beam underneath the truck. He had reached his tan muscular arm over the center console and tickled the life out of me as he always did. He started to laugh at the way I wiggled around and chuckled in the seat I let out a sigh in releif that it was over. After I was able to catch my breath I looked up at his strong face when he clenched his jaw making the muscles pop out of his cheek
(it was a habbit of his)

I giggled to myself as I thought about how much it used to make me laugh and now I guess it still does. I dove back into my flash back realizing I dozed off.

He noticed me looking at him and smiling, he then returned the smile "What are u smiling at?" "You" I replied instantly. He chucked "why?" "Haha, because of your jaw!" "Haha oh" "You just think thats sooooo funny don't you" he said grabbing my knee and tickling it making me snort. He imitated me by snorting and laughing, making fun of me. I laughed and a bright smile stuck to my smile lit up and stuck to my face as I stared into his big bark blue eyes scrunching my tiny nose at him. He looked at the road and looked back at me and I earned a nose scrunching back from him when I moved my eyes to his brown almost black hair and watched it shine off of the dim light flowing through the wind sheild. My eyes again shifted but this time through the windsheild staring at the sky noticing that it was a azurite blue fading down into a lighter shade of blue glowing behind the horozon, with a little stain of yellow resting on top of the mountains. He looked at me and smiled and looked back at the road for a split second. We started to turn a wide corner, I saw a silver car with bright head lights. It swerved and clashed into the grill of the truck, we both grunted in unison as our heads fell forward, but out bodies haulted as the seatbelts locked. I then blacked out.

I gasped when I gained conciousness and looked around with wide eyes before they stuck to my father getting even wider. I looked at the dark dried blood sticking to his tan skin starting from his hair line proceeding down to his jawline in front of his ear. I stared in shock looking at the deep gashes and bruises covering his face as I sat upside down with the seatbelt holding me in place. I nuged his sholder and he didnt move a muscle "Dad" I said in a low voice. Again he never moved "Dad! No please dad please wake up!" "Daddy please" I felt a warm series of tears slide down my face and small sobs escaped my lips "Daddy!" I pushed him and I felt a sharp pain in my arm and pulled away quickly. I used my opposite arm and moved him back and fourth softly and his head moved but only from my movements. I was interrupted by a man in a white shirt and black pants opening the door slowly when it creeked and he bent down "your gonna be okay, my names Dennis, im here to help you okay?" he stated calmly he looked up at me "can u put your hands on the roof of the truck for me sweetie?" With a concerned look on my face I stared at him and he still looked up at me with his big blue eyes giving me a ' you can trust me' look I raised my arms but they didn't quite reach so they just dangled, I kept my eyes on him. "Okay now I'm gonna unbuckle your seat belt, keep your arms straight",I hear the button click and start to fall headfirst he reaches in and catches me before I hit the roof. I hadn't noticed before that a lady and a man opend the door and tried to get my father our of the truck. Salty tears sreamed down my face and into my gashes and scrapes and they started to burn but I was to focused on my father to care. The nice man craddled me in his muscular arms and rose up from the truck taking me to the ambulace parked on the side of the road at the top of the slanted hill going into a ditch where the truck was. We were half way up the hill when I peeked around the mans shoulder and saw the lady nealing down on the drivers side. He moved his arm kind of nudging me, "hey, it's going to be okay" I looked up at him and stared into his deep blue eyes they were full of sympathy.

We arrived at the top of the hill and he set me in the back of the ambulance and ran back down the hill with both of the back doors open in the wide truck and a woman comes around one side of the truck and comes and cleans the dirt and blood off of my face and wipes away the warm water from my tears. I flinch when she wipes over a gash in my forehead "I'm sorry sweetheart" "Its okay" I say shyly. When she finishes dressing my wounds and starts to pack her things into a bag with a big red cross on it"What's your name?" She questions. "Ashton" I state "That's a beautiful name" "Thank You" I say kind of putting my eyes on my fingers fiddling my my lap. After a short moment of silence I look up into her bright green eyes and say "Whats your name?" "Anne" she answered after a split second "I like that name" I said "Thanks kid" she grabbs a bandage from a container and asks me to lift my right arm and I do so and lift it in front of me. "OUCH!" I scream "Sorry, try not to move please" she wraps It gently and I push my lips together in pain. When she finishes she sets my arm down on my a lap lightly. "Are you okay" after a short pause she states "We're goin to have to get an x-ray on this" I nod, she grabbed a sling from a drawer beside me and wraps it around my shoulder and slides my arm into it. "Is my daddy going to be okay?" "Um" she says with a shaky voice. She lifted me off the truck and my feet firmly hit the ground. She stared down at me "Ash-" she was cut off by the man deeply breathing behind her "We need the strecher" he said firmly "okay" she said back in a serious tone. I stepped back moving behind the door to move out of their way. They quickly rolled it out of the the back of the truck and the wheels hit the gravel. They slowly pushed the strecher down the hill, but as fast as they could.

Moments later for or five people were coming upt the hill pushing my daddy on the strecher. I could see the sweat on each of thier foreheads bursting through and shining on the overwelming, hot sun. I hovered over the bed staring at my dads face I can still remember what it looked like to this day. Breathing deeply and heavily, they pushed my dad to the bumper of the truck then lifting him up on the strecher and placing him into the truck. Dennis wrapped his hands around my small waist and planted me on the metal floor of the truck with a light thud. He then hopped in with another two perametics following behind him. They placed a thing on my dads mouth and I had no clue what it was and I still don't but Dennis told me it was supposed ro help him breathe they hooked my dad up to a whole bunch of machines I didnt know what they were or what they were for all I knew is that they would help my daddy because thats what Dennis told me. We came to a quick haulta and immidiately the doors opend with two other peramedics were im midway of the doorway. They started to roll the stretcher out of the truck "I've got it" the peramedic grunded. I could hear heavy breathing around me as they pulled him out of the truck. The wheels fell to the ground and proped his body up. They rushed him into the buildig barging through the door. The doctor started to talk to Dennis their voices began to sound like mumbles because I was to focused on staring into my dads face, It started to blur at tears began to overfill my eyes and started to pour out and stream down my damaged face.

As I thought of the very last memory I had of my loving father tears stumbled down my hot cheeks as I watched the moon blur when more tears burned my eyes.
