“Hello?” said a sleepy Jawn on the other end of the line.
“This is Cecil. We need to talk.” Cecil’s words were sharp and quick.
“Uh… okay. What do you want to talk about? I thought we had discussed everything about the wheat at dinner,” Jawn said, yawning.
“No, this is about Sherlock.” Jawn’s end of the line went silent. Not even a breath could be heard.
“What about him?” asked Jawn.
“Well, I saw the way you looked at him tonight. Care to tell me why?” There was a sharp intake of breath from Jawn.
“Cecil, can you keep a secret?” Jawn’s voice was shaky.
“Sure.”
“Sherlock and I have been secretly seeing each other. Fuck. I hate telling you this, but we’ve been messing around a little bit when Carlos isn’t around. I confessed to Sherlock how much I adored him and it just took off from there. Then one day Sherlock told me we couldn’t be together anymore, and I was heartbroken. Carlos had asked Sherlock to be his boyfriend and I died a little inside.”
“Jawn, has Sherlock confessed to Carlos? I mean, that's kind of a big deal, cheating on your own boyfriend.”
“No, and Sherlock and I have still been together behind his back. I tried to stop it, but I couldn’t. Sherlock’s just so well, equipped, if you know what I mean.”
“Oh. Yeah. Uh… I… We need to make Sherlock tell Carlos. Otherwise you and I are living total lies.”
“NO. I am not sacrificing myself to that. Once Carlos knows, Sherlock will hate me. And Cecil?”
“Yes?”
“I’m sorry. But I don’t think I can go on anymore.”
“What? Jawn! Wait! What did you-” The line was dead.
Cecil sighed. What had he gotten himself into?
