"...Wakin.... He.... Be Careful." As I finally started to make sense of the world around me, everything tumbled back into confusion. "Where am I?... Who am I?"
As I looked around I saw two women, both dressed in attire of nurses, "Your in Telna, a band of merchants came across you in the middle of what appeared to be a battlefield, over fifteen Orc bodies lay around you. All you had however was a small egg on your head." The older of the two ladies seemed to be trying to elicit an answer from me over these circumstances.
I took a second to get my bearings. The room was spacious enough with beds lined up on each side leading me to believe it was a hospital of sorts, however I was the only patient here it seemed. "I don't remember anything at all." I sat up and checked myself out, "I don't even remember what I look like, can you hand me a mirror please?"
The younger nurse headed over to a table nearby and grabbed a small hand mirror, placing it into my hand as she got back, "There you go, hopefully you will start to remember things soon." She had a sincere smile and look, so I smiled back, "Thank you."
As I looked myself over no memories came back, but I at least had a better idea of what i looked like. A thin angular face, with a slight amount of stubble, and semi-short hair. However that's where the normal ended, My hair was Pitch black except for the White streaks, unnatural, and continues with the really weird. My Irises where Pure white, My Pupils however were not round, but catlike, and Crimson Red. Looking down I was of a thin build, but the tones of my body were not of those inexperienced to work, quite the opposite.
"I hope it will, but there's no sign of that yet." The nurses brought me food and took care of me for a couple days, hoping my memories would return. But eventually with no signs of that happening and no idea of any familiar people or places they looked into getting me a job and place to stay.
The day before though we realized a slight issue, "What will people call you?" the younger nurse pointed out.
"I have no idea" I said, realizing this problem myself.
"Fate" the older nurse chimed in.
As we both turned to look at her she continued, "They found you among fifteen Orcs, yet you were unhurt, you look.... different than anyone I've ever seen, and somehow none of that seems out of place, as if your meant to be here... Fated." She stared at me and i just nodded with the younger nurse.
That evening we went to the town council to discuss with them and place me in the town's records, however they didn't like the spelling of the name, so they changed it a little bit. The next day I was working for a Merchant, and it went very well, so well he gave me a letter of recommendation after one week, and sent me off to the capital of Telesia, Delmascia, in hopes of coming into contact with someone who might know me. The person I was sent to meet was apparently the owner of some big business.
As i left the town waving, the young nurse called out to me, "Have a good life, I hope you find your memories someday. Be safe on your journeys you hear, no more Orcs. Take care, Fayt."
