Everyday I would run from my house to school, it was already a habit of mine to do this thing. One day I helped this woman I saw in the streets and she smiled asking what was my name. I told her my name and then she said that she had seen me run everyday running and asked me if I wanted to run in a field like those for the Olympics because of this I agreed and said that with this I would improve my running skills. The woman gave me the address of the place I was suppose to go then I decided to visit it after school ends that day.
I was shocked when I saw the place I was about to run in to, it was really big and all that I could say was wow when the woman met me at the entrance. She said that I could run in the fields for as long as I want and anytime I want to. With this opportunity I decided to grab it.
Everyday I would go to the fields and run until one day a letter was given to me by the woman stating that there would be a competition internationally and the winner would have a gold medal. I quickly agreed with the offer and I said to myself that my parents would be proud of me and I would give honor to the country.
I was trained hard by the woman and it took us long hours of practice I was even excused from school just to practice. It was hard for me but I kept in mind that people would be proud of me once I win this race.
One day a letter came from a former friend of mine.
Dear Susy,
I heard you were to represent our country and with that I wish you good luck. I have high hopes for you to win. I just hope that when you win you would stay the humble Susy I met. Well that’s all I could say.
Your friend,
Nelly
With this I said to myself that what I was doing was really important and I must not forget the values taught by my parents to me.
The day arrived and there I was in the fields along with the other runners coming from different countries. I heard the signal saying that it was time for the race to start and there I was running as I hear the crowds shouting and cheering for their respective countries. I manage to pass all the runners and reached the line I was jumping for joy. Then I saw runner tripped so I went to the runner to help her get up and with that she said thank you.
I was being awarded for being the first when another medal for helping the person from the field get up. For me these medals were just signs that I must what I have done was great and I must continue on to doing it.
