"Happy 19th birthday Chloe!" my room mate Kathryn shouts bursting into my bedroom.
"Wow thanks, another year older...great." I say sitting up rubbing my eyes. It was still dark outside as I was unfortunate enough to have my birthday in October when it's FREEZING outside.
"Here you go, I got you a little something." she says handing me a large white box with a bright blue bow on top with a little note on saying 'happy birthday to my best friend'
"Yeah a 'small' present." I laugh doing the quotation marks with my fingers. Kathryn wasn't the one to do anything small. For my 18th birthday she took me to visit my mom who had moved to America after meeting her new boyfriend.
I opened up the box to see a dress inside was a gold sparkly dress and a pair of simple black heels. My eyes grew wider as I picked up the dress examining it.
"Thank you so much," I say with a huge grin on my face. "What's it for though?" my facial expressions changed from being really happy to being really confused.
"We're going out tonight!" I love Kathryn more than anything but my idea of a perfect birthday is completely different to what mine is. I would much rather just order in food and chill with friends than having to go out socialising with drunken people and probably forgetting the whole night.
I just smile not wanting her to see that I don't like the sound of the idea. "Cant wait." I say faking a smile.
****skipping to the night****
"Are you ready Chloe?" I hear Kathryn shouting from another room.
"Just a sec." I shout back as I finish buckling my shoe. I stand up wobbling over to the mirror. I'm not the most experienced person when it comes to heels, I'd rather just wear a nice pair of comfy trainers but that's not allowed in clubs in London. I look at myself in the mirror, my hair isn't naturally straight but straight enough for me to just leave it natural. I picked up a small black purse and placed my keys and phone inside.

I walked out into the living room area to see Kathryn and our other friends Annie and Hailey waiting for me all having a glass of wine in their hand.
"You look stunning." Hailey commented as I joined them. I smiled at her comment.
"Lets go." Annie says.
