Mitch's P.O.V.
"I can't wait for you to see the house! I squealed excitedly. Your room is amazing, I hope to love it!"
Ella smiled up at me from the hospital bed. "I'm so excited, she said. This is going to be so amazing! I can't wait to have a regular life with a house and parents- even if I have five parents and they're superstars," she said with a laugh.
I laughed with her. It was a bit strange. Well, very strange. Completely and totally abnormal. But we were going to be a loving family none the less. Family isn't always about the people in your life who are blood relations. It's about the people in your life who want you to be theirs. It's about the people in your life who accept you for who you are, support you in the things you choose to do and no matter what, are there for you. It's the people in your life who love you, respect you, and who you can depend on. That's my definition of family.
A nurse comes in and smiles at Ella. "Alright Ella your free to leave as soon as I get you all unhooked and tell your parents who to take care of you. Sound good?"
"Sounds just perfect," said Ella"
I looked over at Scott, Avi, Kevin, and Kirstie. Each and every one of them was smiling like an idiot. And I'm sure my face was no different. 'Tell your parents' was echoing in all of our heads. It still felt a bit surreal to me. I'm a freaking DAD! I wonder if she'll call us dad- well mom for Kristie. She can't call all four of us dad. That would just be confusing. I'll bring it up later. She might not even want to call us dad and mom. She did loose her parents fairly recently after all.
"Alright you all detached," said the nurse as she took out the I.V. She turned to us. "Now I gave her a brace to help support her broken ribs. It was a very clean break so she wont need to wear it for too long before it heals. Only about four to six weeks. Just be careful. It will probably be very uncomfortable for a while so the doctor has prescribed these pain pills," she said as she handed a bag with a bottle of pills to Kevin. "She should take one when she needs pain relief during the day and always one right before bed to help her sleep. No more than 3 a day though. I wrote all of that down in case you forget it. Any questions?"
We all shook our heads no.
"Okay then you, she said tapping Ella on the nose, are free to leave. You can use that wheelchair. Goodbye sweetie!"
"Goodbye! We all coursed. I looked over at Scott. Three... Two... One... Goodddd byeeee! We sang. The two of us burst out laughing.
Ella looked up at us, a confused look on her face. "What's that from?"
"We'll show you later", laughed Scott.
Ella smiled. "Okay." She slowly sat up and swung her legs over the side of the bed. She pushed against the bed for support as she stood, but her knees still buckled.
"I got you!" Said Scott as he swooped in and caught her before she collapsed on the floor. He picked her put and carried her over to the waiting wheelchair.
I smiled. Scott was so protective, he is going to make an awesome dad. He caught my gaze and smiled at he. My heart melted slightly as he blew me a kiss.
"Alright lets go!" He announced after Ella got settled into the wheelchair. Kevin pushed the chair as we walked down the wide, chemically cleaned smelling hospital hallway. We took the elevator to the first floor and walked out through the lobby, past the fountain, and outside into the sunshine. Ella squinted at the bright sunlight and raised her right arm, which, it turned out wasn't broken- it had been dislocated, to block the bright sun. We walked to the car and Avi helped Ella into the car. I started to get nervous. I hoped she likes the house.
*Ella's P.O.V.*
When we pulled up to the house all i could do was stare. The "house" wasn't a house. It was a mansion!(A/N: Here's a picture of the mansion: http://yik24bj94w4dudph3m1yav18.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Houston-Tx-Mansion-For-Sale.jpg )
"Wow," I whispered. It was amazing. I can't believe I was going to live here. As they gave me a tour of the house I was in complete shock. This was unlike any of my wildest dreams. To live with a loving family in a place like this... well it was, it was better than anything I had ever hoped for.
"Are you ready to see your room?" Asked Avi as we stopped in front of a tall wooden door.
"YES!" I squealed. He opened the door and I stepped through. Immediately my eyes teared up. I just stood there- dumbfounded. My father's desk was sitting against one of the walls with a new mackbook pro on it along with other cool office and art supplies. The canopy bed was my old one, but it had been re-stained and had a beautiful bedspread on it. The dresser was my mother's, and on top of it was her jewelry box. The room also had window benches, two skylights, and new bookshelves with all of my books placed on them. There was also a nice sitting area in a corner that had my families coffee table in it.
Tears were streaming down my face as I looked at the room in front of me. They way that they had mixed my important family pieces with the new things they gave me was beautiful. I couldn't thank them enough if I tried.
I walked over to my mother's jewelry box and reverently ran my fingers over it's polished wood. I held my breath as I opened it. A cry of delight escaped me as I looked in it. Everything was still there. I took out my mother's locket that my father had given her and gently put it on. Kirstie came up behind me and gave me a big hug.
"Do you like your room"? She asked.
My eyes teared up as I gazed around the room again.
"It's perfect."
