(A/n) Okay guys, lol be proud of me! Its only been a week since I've updated. But anyway... THIS STORY HAS 99 READS!! WTF!? I know some of you with tons of reads and followers are rolling your eyes at me, but I posted my first chapter on here just for fun and it makes me really happy that people enjoy the things I write. *Wipes happy tear away* ANNYYYWAYS here's the next chapter:
Kirstie's P.O.V.;
I finished signing my name on the last piece of the adoption papers with a flourish. There! I thought happily. "I'm a mom!" I said in amazement. All of a sudden a scream echoed through the halls."That sounded like Ella! said Scott as he jumped of of his chair and rushed out the door, the rest of us hot on his heels.
We all burst into the adoption room where we had left Ella, just five minutes ago. I was horrified at the sight that met my eyes. Ella was on the ground, nose bleeding, cradling her arm, and coughing up blood while a girl mercilessly kicked her in the stomach. Scott immediately started yelling at her to stop as he, Avi, Kevin, and Mitch ran over and dragged the girl, kicking and screaming, away from Ella. They each held down an arm or leg as she thrashed, trying to get away. I ran to Ella, pulling out my phone as I did so. She coughed up blood and went limp. I cradled her head in my arms and dialed my phone.
"This in 911 emergency, what is your emergency?"
"M-my daughter, I sobbed, her arm is broken and her nose is bleeding and the girl, the girl that did this to her, was kicking her in the stomach and now she's coughing up blood and-"
"Miss, I need you to take a deep breath, that's it, good job. Now can you tell me the address? Where are you and your daughter at?"
"Th-the orphanage, I-I don't know the address, I stammered, its called the home for girls orphanage.""Okay ma'am we know where that is. Stay calm okay, there's a firehouse just a block away they'll be there in just a minute or two. Please stay on the phone until they get there okay?"
"Please hurry!" I pleaded.
The orphanage staff carry the girl out and the boys run over to Ella and I. Kevin starts to examine her, doing all he can with nothing to work with. I'm still crying and holding Ella's head in my lap. Avi wraps his arms around me, tears running down his cheeks. I sob into his chest. The paramedics burst through the door and quickly move us aside, they quickly put her arm in a splint and lift her onto a gurney, rushing out the door and into the ambulance. Scott, Kevin,and I climb into the ambulance with them while Avi and Mitch run to the car to follow behind us. In the ambulance the paramedics put some sort of tube down Ella's throat. They briefly explain that its a breathing tube. I suck my breath in sharply, she needs a tube to help her breathe? Oh god, oh, god, oh god, I think as I panic.
Kevin's POV;
The ambulance pulled up to the hospital and Ella was whisked away, probably into surgery. The five of us gathered into a private waiting room and the waiting game began. Kirstie was sobbing into Avi's chest and he wasn't much better. Mitch was sitting in a chair gripping the arm rests so hard that his knuckles where white. Scott was sitting next to him going back and forth between staring at the clock and the door. I was pacing back and forth.All of the possible things that could go wrong where flying through my head. I wish I was as naive as the rest of them. They had no way of knowing exactly HOW bad it could be. Yes they were all worried and very upset but they had no way of knowing exactly what might happen. I started shaking at the thought of it. Avi had stopped crying and joined Scott in watching the door. He glanced over at me and instantly read me like a book.
"Kevin. Dude you need to stop thinking. She'll be okay , she has to be."
My mind was still spinning but he was right. I took a deep breath and sighed, running my fingers through my hair. I would just have to hope and pray. It was out of my hands, there was nothing more I could do.
