Brendon never came into the club the next night, or the rest of the week. I decided to take a break for the weekend. I gave up on him coming to the club and I wanted to spend time with my older brother, Ben. He had been working all week, He didn't know I was working in a strip club. I felt embarrassed to tell him and other than the fact it was illegal. It was just me and Ben living in the big city by ourselves.

I was cooking dinner for Ben and I that night when I heard a knock on the door. He was too immersed in reading the newspaper to notice, so I set down what I was doing and answered it.

My eyes went wide. "Brendon?" I asked, shocked. I pulled him into the hall and quietly shut the door. "What are you doing here!?" I yell whispered so Ben or anyone else in the building wouldn't hear me.

"I have to leave town." He said. My eyes went wide. "What?"

"Come with me and we can run away together. Please. I've never felt this way about anyone." He squeezed my hands. "Please." He begged.

"Tell me what the fuck is going on Brendon. You owe me that." I pulled my hands away and crossed my arms over my chest. Brendon sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Okay, okay. Fine. But not now-" He said but I cut him off. "No. Now." I demanded.

"I can't right now, okay? But I promise I'll tell you. Just please, come with me. I think I'm in love with you," he pulled me into a kiss.

"You don't even know me," I started. I felt this deep emotion for Brendon, but he didn't know the feeling he gave me. He left me confused most of the time. I barely knew him, but I wanted to go with him. I heard the door creak open and Ben stepped into the hall. He saw Brendon and looked at him with disgust,"You."

Brendon looked at him nervously, I never saw him with fear in his eyes. "Hello, Benjamin," He said meekly. I gave a look of confusion.

"You two know each other?" I asked them. Brendon avoided eye contact and Ben was fuming.

Ben shook his head and mutter, " I wish I didn't."

"How the hell do you two know one another?" I asked them again.

"I'm getting my gun," Ben murmured. "Get off my property, and leave my sister alone." he growled at Brendon. He slammed the door.

Brendon took my hands in his and looked desperately into my eyes. "Lauren, come with me."

I gazed into his brown orbs and I could feel myself answering before I thought about it.

"I'll go with you," I whispered. "Meet me at the club tonight and we'll leave together, okay?" I pressed my lip on his and squeezed his hand.

"Okay, nine o'clock. Don't be late." He said and turned abruptly.
